My name is Claire,
I am a childcare professional, I have been working in the childcare industry in a number of various roles for over 25 years. I believe in providing a caring, loving, nurturing environment, with a HYGGE approach to learning, which ensures children feel valued and respected. I believe in risk benefit play as I feel this promotes confidence, independence, and resilience. I promote holistic development by organising creative play and supporting interactive learning activities. I’m skilled in nurturing care and educational support for young ones. I have proven success in establishing strong bonds with both children and parents. I’m dedicated to creating a safe and engaging environment for children to thrive. My Experience
I have a N.N.E.B qualification in childcare.
I worked as a nanny for 3 years.
I have worked in a number of private nurseries in Glasgow.
I then went on to have 2 children of my own, which then led me into childminding within the Largs area for 10 years.
Over those 10 years I worked with autistic children, I have gained experience in children with many language and learning difficulties too!
In 2014 I had my 3rd child, with so much enthusiasm, curiosity and plenty of fun..
In 2015 I moved to a converted church in Darvel and I provided a high standard of care from there for 8yrs working with over 36 families.
I ran a service with an assistant and provided care for up to 12 children at a time.
This was a very demanding, very challenging job so I felt that I wanted a change to a more bespoke service that cattered for 1 family, though I would be happy to nanny share!
In January 2023 i moved to Alloway, I have now decided to become a live out Nanny, offering a service within South Ayrshire.
I truly couldn't be happier offering a very high standard of care out in the communities of Ayrshire, using all the parks, zoo's, museums, soft-play centres, country parks, forests, and other facilities to provide an outdoor learning experience with a door to door delivery.

My daughter Lara has been with Claire on a Friday for the past few months and she honestly loves it. Lara thrives being outside and loves to explore. Bedtime has never been an issue on a Friday night after running around with Claire through the day.

Clare has been childminding our girls (2 and 4) for 6 months and we love that she puts so much energy and creativity to the time spent with the kids. They always seem to be doing stuff like making mud pies, hedgehog houses for the garden, doing yoga videos, cooking lessons, seasonal crafts, going on outings to different parks etc. The kids have FUN. And they’re learning at the same time. Great value.

Claire and Adam have looked after our little girl for just over a year now and within that year they have helped her develop into a confident, clever little girl. They’ve engaged her in fun educational activities, provided us with feedback on her progress and helped us deal with all the joys a 2 year old brings (potty, tantrums, sleep patterns). Our little girl always comes back happy and basically runs the whole way to Claire and Adams in the morning. We couldn’t have found or asked for better childminders.

Claire has been caring for our son for over 6 years. Her service always focused on development, learning and fun. Claire has a wealth of experience in childcare and education. The kids were not always aware of all the opportunities and planning - because they were too busy learning and having fun. Claire was genuinely interested in my son’s development and wellbeing and always provided an excellent service. Communication and planning was excellent, including regular planned - updates, reviews, and care plans. The service then grew, with more kids and even more fun, while Claire and Adam continued to offer an excellent service. Highly recommend.

My daughter has been with Claire for 6 years and will greatly miss her when she moves away to her new home. Both Claire and Adam are wonderful people and extremely good at caring for the children in their care. For both it is not just a job, their care, support and genuine affection for the children under their shows through. They take the needs of each individual child in to account when planning the various activities that they do while under their care. They have been very helpful and supportive while we waited for my daughter to get her diagnosis of Autism. Willing to put extra resources in place to help her when they saw that she was not coping with anything, especially over the pandemic. They keep us informed of what they do during the day, very approachable if I needed to discuss anything. I cannot recommend them highly enough, they are gems.

Both my children loved their time spent with Claire and her husband Adam which sadly only came to an end when our family no longer required a childminding service. It was reassuring as a parent to know that my children were with a childminder who respected them, promoted their independence and provided them with fun learning experiences. It was very clear when speaking to Claire that childcare was not just a job for her but that she has a genuine passion for her practice and child development. I always felt Claire made a lot of effort to provide the best possible service and she always exceeded my expectations. She was very approachable whenever I had anything I needed to discuss, which was important to me as my youngest child has addition support needs, and she was always very supportive towards him. She was also great at keeping me informed, with messages and photographs, of my children’s experiences and it was clear to see the enjoyment they were having, as well as being great at communicating anything to do with her service e.g. Holiday or day out reminders etc. I can’t recommend Claire enough, she is just terrific.

Claire looked after my little boy whilst I was studying at college. She is a fantastic child minder who genuinely loves and cares for all her children. She was very flexible and worked around the different days that I had to be college. She is so friendly and caring and makes you feel part of her family. She always has lots of fun activities and takes her children out for trips to various parks and other places. I could not recommend Claire highly enough. She's a wonderful person ❤️

Claire has looked after all 3 of my children over the last 12 years. My children are now 20, 18 and 12 years now and she was great with all of them and adapting to all their personalities in a relaxed and very crafty home. Claire is a very caring person who adores children of all ages unfortunately she has moved away and we all wish her well in Darvel . Claire is one of the most accommodating people I have ever met and I cannot praise her more highly in taking care of my wee darlings over the years.

I took my little boy to Claire at 1.5years old, I was returning to work and was anxious about childcare. I needent have been. Claire welcomed my son into her family. She takes the children out, to playgroups, does arts and crafts, baking, encourages them to try new things, has a topic each month. She themes her home for each season and the children all get involved in the decorating and make decorations themselves. If you are looking for Mary Poppins, then Claire is your girl. She also helped support me with trying to extend Albies diet(he's fussy), with potty training and was always happy to offer advice and support if there were things I was finding tricky.
I couldn't rate Claire highly enough and I am just sad that I had to move away and that she couldn't look after Albie anymore.
