My Summary
About Me
My trading name is Newton Flotman Childminding I have two Children of my own, who attend Newton Flotman Primary School. I am fully qualified as a child practitioner with early year’s qualifications and hold up-to-date First Aid certification. I have completed courses and gained qualifications in; Safeguarding/child protection, Schemas, children with speech, language & communicational needs, delivering EYFS, expectations & behaviour, brain development, Norfolk graded care,
Supporting children’s emotional well-being, effective partnerships working with parents.
My Experience
Children learn best when they are healthy, safe and secure. Meeting their individual needs and having positive relationships with the adults who care for them. This is the aim of my setting and home. I will provide stimulating activities, encouragement, support and healthy meals in a warm, welcoming, safe and engaging home/setting.
Activities - under 5 years
Following the EYFS statutory framework to encourage your child’s development, I will provide engaging activities considering each child’s Schema (preferred learning style) which will include; singing, dancing, creative free play, investigatory play, sensory play, messy play, arts and crafts, sums and language, offsite outings, baking and accessing toddler group activities provided by local authorities and lots of time in the outdoors. I will ensure that every child learns effectively through playing and exploring, creativity and being active.
Every child will have a daily record of what they have experienced, what they have enjoyed, what has been a challenge for them in addition to their wellbeing comments. I will support each child’s development through the EYFS framework to encourage their individual development by observing, assessing and planning next steps.
Activities - over 5 years
For children who are being cared for before and after school, I will provide stimulating activities relevant to their age and interests. I teach children life skills such as reading, writing, mathematics, solving puzzles, cooking, IT, encourage them to learn about the World they live in through conversations and activities revolved around relevant topical world events/News. This will be in addition to supervised free play.
When providing child care in holiday time I will set out activities and outings which will be interesting and engaging for all the children in my care and promote lots of outdoor activity and offer continuation of the EYFS and curriculum.

I would not hesitate to recommend Linzi as a childminder.
My son has additional needs and he has thoroughly enjoyed the sessions he has spent in her care. The activities are well organised. It feels as though Linzi puts a lot of thought and preparation in ensuring that the children have a safe, fun and stimulating experience.
The environment is excellent with a super outside play area including a mud kitchen, a chill out area and a great range of toys for all ages.
If you book your child in with Linzi she will take a genuine interest in making sure there are things available that they will enjoy. She has a professional approach to work (as a working Mum this is very reassuring) and is a pleasure to do business with.
