My Summary
About Me
I am positive, enthusiastic, friendly, and eager to learn. I am punctual and hardworking and I am excellent at dealing with people.
I am ideally looking for full time work with babies and young children. I have always had a passion for looking after children. Children relate to me quickly and easily. I find working with them enjoyable, rewarding and interesting. I have very nearly finished my level three in childcare and am going to be starting my level 4 Nurse Training and intend pursuing a career as a maternity nurse. I firmly believe that children thrive in a positive, safe and supportive environment, so endeavour to make babies and children in my care feel socially, emotionally and physically safe and valued. I am well organised, warm, bubbly, fun, energetic, caring. I have a nurturing personality which is why I quickly create a real bond with children in my care. I enjoy creating stimulating, educational and fun activities for them.
My Experience
WORK EXPERIENCE
October 2022-Current
Am currently nannying for a family in the afternoons but I'm looking for another family to nanny for in the mornings. I love looking after my family and I'm really excited to find another one.
February 2019-October 2022
Childcare practitioner at Torwood Lodge Nursery in Redland. When my partner and I moved to Bristol I got this job knowing I was really ready to work in the nursery sector. I have loved every minute of it but I’m ready to move on into the next stage as I’m looking to venture into teaching and am going to be starting my degree from September at the Open University with an online course.
August 2018-February 2019
With a family nannying a 3 year old girl in Herefordshire, My duties included taking and picking her up from school and ensuring that she had a balanced diet, support with her reading and any other homework and learning through play activities before the bedtime routine.
May 2018-September 2018
While at college I worked and nannied for two children in Hereford, picked them up from school, fed them and looked after them. I also supported them with their homework.
September 2017-July 2018
I started a level two in training as a childcare practitioner and teaching assistant, as part of the course I worked in a nursery caring for children from three months to four years old and for 12 weeks and I worked in a class room setting shadowing a teacher working as a teaching assistant for a year one class.
Summer 2017
I spent time in Ashford School in Kent and worked in a nursery ( 3 to 5 years). I did something different everyday. I learnt how different it is to a home environment. I helped care for the children in 1:1 or in groups helping with reading, number work, play activities to encourage social integration: I would help keep the children happy and engaged by play and make sure they got involved in as much as they could.
February 2017
I provided after school care for a five year old boy in Taunton, Somerset. Duties included; cooking, entertaining, and ensuring a smooth running bedtime routine.
March 2017
I did a placement for twin girls who were four months old. I helped prepare formula bottles, fed the twins, changed them, did their laundry and generally entertained them. Both of the twins suffered from reflux and colic so it was a really great insight into how to manage this. I also had the privilege to observe experienced maternity nurses do sleep training both day and night. I also helped implement a new sleeping schedule in the day as recommended by another maternity nurse.
April 2017
I went down to Dorchester for a week and nannied for three children all under 6 years of age. I cooked, cleaned, played and looked after the children while both their parents worked full time.
May 2017
I went down to Kent and worked in a nursery for a week. I did something different everyday. I learnt how different it is to a home environment. I helped care for the children and look after the nursery making sure it was a safe place for the children. I would also help keep the children happy, play and make sure they got involved in as much as they could. I feel its very important to ensure a child is getting an enriched childhood and thoat they are able to excel in areas that interest them most.
Sydney Australia - February 2016/January 2017
My first job in Australia was for 2 months from mid March for Jen Dugard and her company “Body Beyond Baby”. This was where mums would come to exercise and lose their baby weight and bring their babies along. There would be up to 13 babies each session and myself with two other nannies would look after them.
During this time I also cared for a ten week old baby called Alfie for a month for Rachael and Ben Kellaway. This was evening work and I would play with him, change his nappy, get him ready for bed, make sure he was happy and settle him to sleep.
My substantial role was with Frankie who I cared for for approximately three months. I first met Frankie at Baby beyond Baby when she was about 11 weeks old and we made a connection instantly. Before I became involved in her care she was really unsettled at Body Beyond Baby and the nannies would have to call her mother to care for her. After connecting with Frankie and her mother (Phoebe) I began nannying for them in a part time capacity in June. In September they hired me as a full time nanny and I watched Frankie grow and develop. Sadly, all good things must come to an end and I stopped working for the Bradley family in December when Frankie started daycare and Phoebe changed jobs. Such was the bond made I still keep in close touch with the family.
