Welcome to Doodle Dots Childcare

Thank you for considering me for your little one's care.

Choosing the right childcare is a big decision. This information aims to answer some of those initial questions. Please know that at Doodle Dots, your child's well-being is my absolute priority. I am dedicated to providing age-appropriate and engaging experiences for every child, using a blended curriculum that embrace children’s interests whilst following the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) framework.
I offer a warm and nurturing "home from home" environment where children can learn and grow naturally. The EYFS emphasizes that every child is unique, and I wholeheartedly embrace this, ensuring it's at the heart of their individual development journey.

Fees, Funding & Time Off

My daily fee of £60.00 (for unfunded days, 8:00 - 17:00 session) is designed to make things easier for you. It includes breakfast, lunch, snacks, toddler groups and classes, as well as essential items like nappies, wet wipes, puddle suits, sun hats, UV suits, and water bottles.
I am pleased to accept government-funded childcare, including the 30 hours entitlement, and payments through Childcare Choices (tax-free childcare)
I understand the importance of clear communication regarding time off:
* You will not be charged for days when Doodle Dots is closed due to my holidays, bank holidays or illness. Very simply if the setting is closed I do not charge.
* Full payment is required if I am available to work, for example if your child is ill or you take holidays during that time.
* I typically take an average of 4-6 weeks of holiday per year. I will provide you with plenty of notice of these dates.

Our Exciting Activities

I believe in making the most of our surroundings! Weather permitting, I love exploring the great outdoors and taking advantage of all that the local area has to offer. This includes regular visits to local parks, the wonderful Wellington Country Park, and interesting National Trust properties.
We also have some special activities:
* Butterfly Buddies: Weekly intergenerational friendship sessions at a local care home. This is a fantastic opportunity for the children to interact with a wider community and learn the value of giving back.
* Childminder Playgroup: We regularly meet up with other local childminders for playdates. This provides even more social interaction, diverse play opportunities, and a chance to share ideas.
On those less sunny days, we enjoy trips to museums and play centres to keep the fun going!
Our "at home" days are just as engaging, filled with garden adventures, organised messy play and creative crafts, plus a wide range of toys and sensory activities. These experiences are vital for preschoolers, fostering their curiosity and providing valuable social interaction in a playful setting.
