About Me

We are looking for a full-time live-in or live-out nanny to join our family and predominantly take care of our 2 youngest children - 1 girl (aged 3) and a little boy (aged 18 months). Our wonderful current nanny has been with us for nearly 5 years but she not able to come back to the role after her maternity leave. We also have 2 older boys (aged 8 and 6) in school full time but my husband and I take on the majority of their childcare (school runs etc.) - 90% of our nanny's current time is on the youngest 2 only.

We live between Colchester and Ipswich. If you want to live in, you will have as a minimum your own entrance, room and bathroom but potentially also a self contained annex. There are multiple playgroups/parks/ playgrounds/ farms etc. around and our current nanny has a lovely network of nanny's nearby. We are also around an hour by train to London if you would like to spend your free time in the city.

We are looking for a nanny to become part of our family but are very conscious of ensuring we have boundaries in place to protect your free time. We would love our new nanny to be energetic, fun, caring, calm, organised, proactive and firm, but fair.

Hours: The average day would be 07:30 - 18:30 Monday – Friday, very occasional evening babysitting, to be agreed. Travel on an annual ski holiday and possibly other holidays to be agreed.

Start date: flexible - ideally starting in Jan/Feb 2025 but we're happy for you to work in parallel with our current nanny until she goes on mat leave. If you would be happy to take on a housekeeper role we are very open to this and could start that role earlier.

Responsibilities: This is a sole charge nanny position. Further details to be discussed - our eldest are in school full time, our daughter goes to nursery 3 mornings a week but this will be increased before she starts school in Sept. Unless you would like a housekeeper role too, the role doesn't involve housekeeping other than the children's areas, their clothes and meals etc.

Remuneration: Based on experience.

Prerequisites:

Minimum 3+yrs nanny experience
Excellent checkable references (wont be contacted without consent).
Level 3 qualification, Norland/Chiltern (or equivalent outside UK). Montessori experience welcome
Valid DBS
Recent first aid certificate
Non-smoker
Fluent English speaking
Full driving license (essential)
