About Me
I’m half South African and half Portuguese, my first language is English, though I speak Portuguese (if a little rusty at the moment) and beginners French. I’m a keen artist and illustrator, I have a passion for children’s books, writing and wordplay and love reading stories and making new ones with the children in my care - it’s so much fun to see the ideas they come up with! I love helping children develop their artistic and literacy skills from an early age with creative craft, writing and building activities, it’s always great to see how quickly they progress! I’m also currently looking into starting a Saturday morning art class for kids. I love animals and would be happy to help out with caring for pets (though I have a fear of snakes!). I’m an organised planner and like to create scheduled activities for each day of the holidays, I’ve found that doing it this way leaves room for epic adventures, much calmer, relaxed, fun holidays avoiding too much boredom and keeping them active! In the same breath, my creativity has been known to lend itself very helpfully to the unexpected and the need to improvise. My wife Sarah is a fantastic pre-school teacher at a local nursery, we’re often sharing ideas, teaching methods and developments in childcare, we have a cat called Pawtia and are happy Tring locals.
My Experience
I have 2 years full time, live-in Nanny experience, caring for two boys ages 3 and 5 (when I started). I have experience caring for children (both boys and girls) from newborn to 10 years, which totals 5+ years childcare experience. I prefer caring for ages 1-6, I enjoy being a formative part of children’s development, helping them to learn and grow through vital stages, watching them become happy, clever, creative little people.
My Qualifications
I’m a qualified Graphic Designer, but have extensive childcare experience. I will be doing a paediatric first aid course and would be interested in pursuing a childcare qualification. I am also currently doing an online refresher course in French and Portuguese.
My Availability
I’m looking for a 3 or 4 day sole charge Nanny position, I’m flexible on any arrangement of weekdays and daytime/evening hours required. I’m looking for a long-term, stable, contracted position, that would allow me to become a fundamental rolemodel for the child/children in my care. I would ideally be looking to care for 1 or up to 2 children.

My Fees
- Nannying from £14.00 per hour (gross)
I’m ideally looking for a 3/4 day role. Something like 3 days 11hr at £14ph or 4 days 11hrs at 12ph. I’m quite flexible and open to discussion, But would prefer to be paid monthly on an annual salary, I’m looking for £23-25,0000 p/a (gross).
