About Me
I am a married mother of one 8 years old who currently attends Mayplace primary school.
I was born in Mexico and spent all of my adult life in California before moving to London in 2014. My qualification in childcare was obtained with PACEY.
My husband is a police officer with the Metropolitan Police. I am fluent in Spanish (Latin American) and I am more than happy to teach your little ones as much or as little Spanish as you want.
I am situated on Grove Road DA7. Martens Grove park is at the end of the street which has a well maintained play area and interesting wooded area. It is a 10-12 minute walk to Barnehurst train station and a 15 minute walk or short bus journey to Crayford train station. Limited off/on street parking
My Experience
I was a full time child carer in California for 6 year old and 2 month old brothers for a little over a year in 2000 before changing career. In 2016 my daughter was born at 25 weeks gestation. She spent 15 weeks in hospital and I was accommodated locally so I could be with her every day. During her stay at the hospital she was at times in an incubator, on a ventilator/CPAP/cannula, required long line nutrition and tube feeding. She required a stoma as a result of necrotising enterocolitis and I was taught by the nurses how to replace the stoma bag and dressing as part of caring for her until she had the stoma reversal. She came home on oxygen which continued for 5 months. I am very familiar with the signs of neonate apnoea. Although I have no official qualification in caring for babies who require specialist care, I feel that the parent/guardian of a premature baby who has recovered sufficiently to be in a home based childcare setting would feel more confident given my experience. I also feel that my experience has taught me how to remain calm and dependable in stressful, difficult or dire situations.

My Availability
I am available immediately for childcare. I hope to take on one or two full-time children who are close to my daughters age (or from birth), or a number of part time children who make up the equivalent hours. My operating hours are 08:00-17:00 with some flexibility dependant on circumstances.

My Fees
- Childminding from £7.00 per hour
£7.00 per hour for children who are not attending school including meals. I am currently registered to accept Edenred childcare vouchers and fully prepared to register with any other voucher provider.

Gabby is lovely, friendly and excellent with kids. My kids had an amazing time under her care. I would highlight her warmth, her fairness, regular feedbacks and her amazing cooking skills.
I have no hesitation in recommending her to any family seeking childcare.

Gabby is honestly the best there is!!! Long review but worth the read I promise!
Gabby looked after my daughter from when she was approx 6 months old through to she was 2 and half. We only stopped as we moved 45 minutes away (we were gutted the commute wasn’t feasible at the time ).
As a first time mum, I was anxious about finding a childminder for my daughter at such a young age, but Gabby completely took that feeling away and provided a home from home for my daughter. She really did look after my child as if she were her own.
Gabby was fantastic in making sure Sienna routine under her care was the same as when she was at home with us. She kept very concise diary for us noting everything from when she fed, how much, exact nap and wake times, even down to how many nappy changes etc. When Sienna started to eat & wean, Gabby was brilliant in helping us with the transition and ensured she ate nutritious varied meals, keeping note of Siennas favourites and dislikes. Sienna eats do many varieties of foods now and that’s thanks to Gabby.
Gabby helped to teach Sienna some basic Spanish in her time, and she still often speaks it (very proudly asking anyone that will hear “como estas?” and “donde los manos?” - again we are so thankful as Sienna has expressed a huge interest in wanting to learn more Spanish.
She helped us to potty train Sienna from
Nappies to none, and provided much encouragement for Sienna (and us!).
At every step or milestone for both Sienna and us as parents, Gabby was truly amazing, teaching Sienna and providing the best care we could ask for.
Gabby effectively helped us to raise our daughter and honestly I could not have wished for a better person to do so. Her warm heart and love for the kids in her care is like no other.
We have a new baby in the family and when the time comes for needing a childminder, I wouldn’t hesitate in choosing Gabby in a heartbeat, the 20mile commute is worth every minute!
