My Experience

I first started to work with children after having my first daughter in 1999.
I became involved with sure-start (children centres) as a parent volunteer
Then after qualifying in childcare I was part of the team offering crèche places to children while parents undertook training sessions.
I left sure-start after having my second daughter in 2003 and started childminding in my own home.
I generally work on a seasons based curriculum and follow the hygge & curiosity approach style using a mix of toys , natural resources & loose parts, using 'in the moment' planning which gives a lot of opportunity for the children to follow their own interests. The children benefit from a broad range of activities, including cooking / baking, arts & crafts , exploring nature, outdoor play and different environments, music and yoga and with visits to the local community, libraries, playgroup, beach, parks, farm, woods etc

My Qualifications

I have worked professionally in the childcare sector for 20+ years. I have a level 3 qualification in childcare and regularly update my training in the key areas of first aid and safeguarding. I also attend a range of training in other areas that support modern thinking and practice to enhance my continuous professional development.

My Availability

I will be working with my husband Richard as an assistant from September 2024 .

Funding for all age groups is available,
I specialise in providing learning in the early years age group. I currently do not offer school wrap around care during term time , but offer school holiday cover for school age children.
My service is currently available 5 days per week, mon -fri and generally from 08.00-17.00

My Fees

• Childminding from £6.00 per hour

My current fees from Sept 2024 are £6p/hour based on a minimum 8hr day
