About Me
Hi I'm Anne and originally from Halifax, West Yorkshire. I recently moved backed to the the UK from Italy 6 months ago with my partner where I worked as a Mother Tongue English Teacher for a school in Cesano Boscone - a little town on the periphery of Milan. Within this role I gained experience working with children aged between 5yrs - 17yrs, my responsibilities included engaging them with fun and creative lessons, help supporting them with any difficulties they may have understanding certain topics and managing the classroom behaviour.
I love working with children, being creative, playing games and watching them learn and develop their understanding. In my spare time I love to travel, experience new cultures, meet new people, read books, make my own clothes and jewellery.
I have previous experience as an after school nanny as well as working as a teaching assistant at Sacred Heart Primary School based in Battersea, there I worked with ASD and mainstream children aged between 4-10yrs.
I'm currently working as a EFL TA at a secondary school in Morden, just 20 minutes walk from where I live. I'm now looking for a part time after - school nanny role no more than 5 hours per week.
My Experience
Responsibilities as an after school Nanny
- Collect the children from school, either wallk them home/take them to after school activities (depending on which day of the week).
- Make the children a snack, get bags ready for after school activities.
- Cook the children's dinner.
- Put laundry into the wash/take out laundry to dry/fold dry laundry and put away.
- Depending on which day of the week take them to swimming, tennis, boxing, brownies etc.
- Make sure the children complete their homework.
- Make sure the children have showered, brushed their teeth and are ready for bed by 7:30pm
Responsibilities as an English Teacher
- Lesson planning and preparing each lesson to suit a variety of different ages and levels, from Elementary 1-4 to superior levels (ages 5yrs – 17yrs) and adults.
-Preparing students for their Trinity exams and Preliminary English Tests.
- Planning, preparing and delivering creative classroom art and craft projects
- Playing games, indoor/outdoor activities and teaching songs and dancing.
- Continual assessment of the students’ progress throughout the course.
Responsibilities as a Summer Camp Teacher/Leader
- Planning and preparing Peter Pan themed creative activities from ages 5-13 years
- Teaching children the story of Peter Pan through the medium of storytelling/video and checking comprehension.
- Teaching the children the script and acting out the play, helping them prepare and rehearse for the final show on the last day of summer camp for the parents.
- Teaching children the history of pantomime and different panto/ theater from around the world.
- Planning outdoor garden games and activities.
- Preparing food for morning/afternoon snacks and lunchtime meals.
- Planning and preparing art and craft projects – such as making stage props and helping design and make the costumes for the children.
