About Me

Hello, my name is Angela and I’m a parent to three boys aged 25, 22, 8 and my daughter who is two and a half. I was a Registered Childminder when my elder two were little, going into office work as they got older. After returning to my full time job following maternity leave in 2014, I arrived at the conclusion that my desires and priorities had changed and left the office in favour of work that I’d get more satisfaction from and more suited to my lifestyle as a mother to a toddler once again.

Between 2014 and 2018 I worked with a number of families offering ad-hoc nanny services with or without housekeeping duties, mother’s help, and babysitting duties, and studied the Pacey HBCA, familiarised myself with the Early Years Framework and other courses (as my original qualifications were taken over 20 years ago) with a view to set up my own Childminding setting. I spent the latter half of 2018 and early 2019 caring for a terminally sick relative, and my fourth and final child joined the family in February 2019. The next two years were spent renovating our forever home and now we are finally moved in and getting settled. I am presently in the process of submitting my application to OFSTED to register as a Childminder. Until I am inspected and approved to offer childcare from my own home, I am again offering ad-hoc nanny and babysitting services.

I have enhanced DRB clearance, paediatric first aid, a clean driving licence with my own vehicle and I am liability insured. I am reasonably flexible on distance from M27 junction 9. One important point of note is my two year old daughter will accompany me to any engagements and also my 8 year old after school hours, school holidays, weekends and some evenings pending the rest of my family’s commitments. Regrettably, I cannot assist with school runs unless it’s the same school my son attends.

My childcare ethos is centred primarily around child-lead and gentle parenting techniques, obviously taking parental desires into account. I am fully conversant on topics of baby lead weaning, dairy/CMPA/wheat allergies/intolerances, baby wearing, cloth nappies and extended rear facing. I like to encourage the children in my care to learn about nature, discover the things that fascinate them, to treat others as they desire to be treated themselves and to look after the environment around them by using resources wisely, recycling and not littering.
