My Summary

My Experience

I have always been interested in working with children, whether it be social work or teaching. I have also planned to spend part of my gap year volunteering as a teacher overseas as well as working as a teaching assistant for a term. I have a reasonable amount of experience working with children and would definitely like to pursue a career involving working children in the future.
My experience includes working at a German Holiday Club last year where I spent the majority of my time supervising children as they did various activities. This job allowed me to develop my skills with children, for example, my approachability, authority, and creativity since I was required to come up with activities for the children too. I found this job really rewarding because I enjoy teaching children new things however at times it was challenging, especially when having to say goodbye to the children at the end of the week! During my gap year, I was lucky enough to be a nanny for multiple families throughout the year. My nannying/babysitting responsibilities included helping them with their homework and doing activities with them before getting them ready for bed. I would also cook dinner and help around the house. Although my most recent job as a waitress does not necessarily include contact with children, it has really helped me develop my people skills and confidence which I think is essential for any work with children. It has definitely helped me to develop my organisation and time management skills, as I worked in a busy restaurant.
I would really enjoy the opportunity to work with children again. Not only would I find this thoroughly rewarding, but I think it would also really aid my own personal skill set. As a drama kid, I am energetic and enthusiastic and I believe these are essential qualities for this role. As well as this, I think I have a range of skills that I can offer to the children, for example, drama and music. Right now, I have just finished my first year of my Primary Education degree at Sussex University and have really developed my theoretical and practical knowledge when working with children!

My Availability

My Fees

• Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
• Nannying from £11.50 per hour (net)

I usually charge £8-10 per hour for babysitting and more if tutoring is needed. I am open to negotiation!
