My Experience
I started my career in England as a live-in au-pair for a Franco-English family in Berkshire to look after their 2 boys who were 6 & 2 yrs old. My tasks were to do the school runs, preparing the boys meals, bathing them, helping with homework, taking the younger brother ( I was looking after him all day long) to parks, indoor play area, walks / tricycle, play with them both. Housework included changing the boys's beddings, washing, cleaning family bathroom & cleaning the floors & tidying up after the boys. *Once a week, I attended a course in a college to study English as a foreign language. I stayed with them for 18 months from August 1995 until February 1997.
My next job was in Surrey working again as a live-in au-pair for a single British woman who had a 4yrs old little girl ( I wanted to be in a only English speaking family to further improve my English). The tasks were the same really, the difference was that I had to do the evening bed times routines with a story. Also, I had the extra responsibility of having the sole charge for two weeks of the little girl while her mother went on a two weeks holiday abroad! I Was there for 8 months from February 1997 until October 1997.
My next job (in Dorset) was as a mother's help for a couple with 3 boys who were 3, 18 months & a 5 weeks old baby. The new experience was looking after a baby & looking after a third child, otherwise, the tasks again were pretty much the same. I Was there for 9 months from January 1998 until October 1998.
From October 1998 until December 2001 I was working for a battery manufacturer in Ilminster (Somerset).
My next childcare job (in Somerset), was as a full time live-out nanny for a couple with 3 boys: a 5yrs old & 6 months old twins. The new responsibility was looking after 2 babies, preparing the bottles, sterilising the bottles, feeding the babies, changing nappies, be on time for the school runs for their big brother, bathing, nap times and play with them while learning, preparing breakfasts & evening meals for the oldest when the parents were at work. working between 10-12 hours a day. I also looked after only the twins for two weeks while their parents were on holiday abroad with their oldest son.
Was there for exactly 3 years from January 2002 until December 2005.
I had to stop working when my husband & I adopted our 4 children in January 2006 to become a full-time mother, and, after thirteen years of looking after my own children, I went back working as a part-time nanny / babysitter for a couple with a 14 months old little boy for 3hrs daily Monday to Friday whilst mum was working from home. The role involved playing & having fun with him, having both educational & imaginative role-plays, walking to parks & recreation grounds, library, Mothers & Toddlers group, etc.... The position ended a week before the family relocated abroad. I was there for 12 months from September 2018 until October 2019.
Whilst, I was doing the above job in the morning, I also worked for another family also in Somerset on a part-time basis collecting a little boy from his nursery and driving him back to his house and staying and looking after him until one of his parents came back home. The couple had another little boy later on & once the mum’s maternity leave was over, I was collecting the baby from his nursery and his older brother from his school and again drove them back to their house looked after them until one of their parents came back home.
I was working for this family for 2 yrs from September 2018 until août 2020.
My following job was in Somerset on a full-time basis for 3 children; 5 yrs old boy/girl twins & 8 months old little girl. The responsibilities included usual nanny duties, driving them to nursery / school & also do the collection. Feeding them, helping with homework, bathing, occasional shopping, taking them to their activities & recreation parks, doing the laundry, preparing their sports bag for the following day, cleaning & tidying after myself ( the family had a cleaner ). Feeding the dogs while the parents were away. I also was doing some additional babysitting during weekends on a regular basis as well as staying & looking after the children overnight while the parents were away from home. I also looked after the 3 children & had sole responsibility for 10 days while both parents went to Dubai. I also went with the mum and her 3 children to New York State ( from June 2022 to end of August 2022 ) as she was doing some research at Cornell university. I drove them daily to their nursery / summer camp while we were there. I had (mostly) sole responsibility of the kids days & nights while we were living in America, as the mum was staying at the University for most of the time .
I was with them for a full 3 years from September 2019 until September 2022 ( They moved permanently to their flat in London on the 14th Sept. 22) .

Gigi has been our nanny since Sep 2022.
Throughout the time she has worked for us she’s been 100% committed to the job.
She’s indispensable as we are both working parents. Always arriving on time, staying later than planned, bringing new toys/books based on the boys interest and even ensures our dog has fresh water.
She’s caring, adapted to our parenting style with ease, is very reliable and flexible (having put up with 7 months of our house renovations!)
She is confident and very trustworthy. I have no issue with her driving my toddlers to playgroups and to the park.
We are moving abroad and devastated to loose her. You’ll be lucky to have her as part of your family!
If you're looking for a wonderful nanny, then you have found her!!!
Gigi has worked for our family for about 4 years now. She is an AMAZING nanny and we really struck gold when we found her. My children (now aged 9,9 and 4) absolutely ADORE her and she has become part of our family.
Gigi is trustworthy, reliable and just great fun with the kids. You can depend on her 100%, and leave the kids in her care knowing they are safe and well cared for. She always shows up with loads of toys/activities/crafts, a big smile and lots of energy! The kids get really excited when we tell them that Gigi is coming for the day - she's so much more fun than us measly parents!
Gigi has been a god-send to our family, taking over childcare / cooking dinner / buying groceries for our family while both parents have needed to be away working. She's done many overnight stays, and a whole week of sole-charge while both myself and husband have had to travel overseas. This summer, she came to the USA with us and took amazing care of all 3 kids while both parents were working long hours, including many nights on sole charge.
I really can't say enough about how wonderful Gigi is. If you're considering her as a nanny for your family, then please, just snap her up NOW while you have the chance!!
We used Gi Gi as a babysitter whilst we were in the UK for my brothers wedding. I was nervous about my daughter being looked after by a stranger she had never met but I needn’t have worried. Within seconds Gi Gi had Penelope smiling and giggling! She is a natural with children- honestly she has such a gift! Penelope adored her and they had such fun together. Gi Gi is so relaxed and made me feel so at ease and able to enjoy the wedding without any worry about whether Penelope was ok. Gi Gi was able to get Penelope to nap, sleep, wash, eat dinner etc without any worry whatsoever! We honestly wanted to pack her up in our suitcase and take her home as she was just the best babysitter we have ever had! Such a lovely person and genuinely loves children- she is amazing! She kept me fully updated during the day of how she was so that I never had to worry and sent me photos of my happy daughter smiling away whilst they played together. It was just lovely. Thank you Gi Gi, so so much! Xx
Gigi has looked after my 4yr old son brilliantly for 6 weeks before he started school. She was amazing and fitted in immediately and my son loved her.
She was great at challenging him through play. Lots of arts and crafts, Lego building and taking him on some lovely walks even building a den in the Forrest. My son had so much fun and it put my mind at rest when working knowing he was having fun.
We will miss her lots, I really recommend her.
I can recommend Gisele 100%. She worked for our family for a year from March 2019 - March 2020 and helped with our 3 children (6 year-old boy/girl twins, and young baby). Gisele only 'left' us due to the coronavirus lockdown and we struggled to live without her!
Gisele is an incredibly experienced childcarer. She raised her own 4 children, and has been working with children as a nanny/au-pair for most of her life. She is wonderful with the kids - very lively, friendly, funny and interactive with them. She loves to have fun with them, but also knows the importance of a routine and to being firm and saying no when neccessary. My kids absolutely adore her, and if I was ever to collect them from school, they would say "where's Gisele?!"
Gisele is hard-working, totally reliable and wonderful with the children. She would be an asset to any family, and I do not hesitate to recommend her as a babysitter / nanny / mother's help.
