About Us

Bright Start Nursery has five childcare rooms available enabling us to cater for children from Birth to 11 years old, we are open from 7.45 - 6pm Monday to Friday all year round with an exception to our one- week Summer and Christmas Closure along with Bank Holidays .
Bright Start Nursery has a small baby room catering for 6 children which we are very proud of as we find enables your child to have a very homely experience whilst being at nursery. Our very caring, dedicated, friendly and warm staff members along with the exciting, stimulating environments, soft furnishings creates a very safe, warm environment for your child to learn, develop and progress.
We have a rising 2's rooms which caters for 12 children aged between 17 months to 2.5 yrs old children and will transition into the rising 3's room aged from 30 months to 42 months this childcare room caters for 24 children.
Our largest childcare room is the Pre-school room where children are aged between 3 and 4 years old, through to when your child is ready to start school. The childcare room caters for 36 children at any one time. There is an Early Years Teacher who works with the children four days a week with the pre-school children to support them with their learning, bridging any identified gaps or boosting the children's learning and preparing them for school.
We have an Afterschool Club, Breakfast Club and Holiday Club which caters for children aged 4 yrs and 11 years old. We collect children from Garlinge Primary School and St Gregorys Primary School with our walking bus. We offer a collection service where children can be collected from school and parents/carers can pick up by 4pm or children can stay until 6pm whilst enjoying a light evening meal.
The holiday club participate in various activities such as going to cinema, beach outings to the beach hut, creative activities, visits to local attractions, visits to the local parks and treasure hunts along with many more activities.
The nursery garden has a large pirate-ship enabling children of all ages to access this to further their physical skills. There is a large sand pit for children to play in, bicycles, mud kitchen, growing area to grow different flowers and vegetables to develop the children's understanding of growth and decay. There is a story chair for children to sit and read stories with their friends, enabling them to develop their communication, literacy and social skills.
The children visit the beach, park, library, train station and the local community to develop the children's awareness of their surrounding environment.
The children visit our Beach Hut based at Westbrook to enhance their knowledge and understanding of the world and experience outdoor learning in a stimulating environment.
The younger children can use a Winther Kiddy 6-seater bus to explore the local environment within our community.
