Hi I'm Maggie, I'm an experienced secondary school English teacher who has worked with children for over 9 years. In my various roles as nanny, childminder, tutor and teacher, I have worked with children and young people from 8 months to 18 years old. I am a responsible, caring, energetic and reliable individual, who loves working with children.
I am currently available throughout August for holiday childcare, babysitting or overnight care. From September 2024, I will be available for weekend childcare and babysitting. I am also available for tutoring.
I am DBS checked and have a full drivers license with no points, and am able to do pick ups/drop offs when needed.
I really enjoy creating exciting and engaging environments for children, and am eager to get the kids involved in arts & crafts, cooking, baking, sports and games. I have recently moved to Brighton from Birmingham, and would love to explore the wonderful things Brighton has to offer, from the beach to the Downs!
My Experience
I have over 8 years experience working as a childminder & nanny for children aged 8 months -15.
Recently, I worked for a lovely family in Moseley who I was with for over three years. My role in term time involved picking them up from school, cooking dinner, helping with homework, pick up & drop offs to and from after school activities and generally keeping them happy & entertained. Over the holidays I provided care for the full working day, taking care of daily routines and all meals. I often took the kids out on activities and adventures in the local area, as well as organising and supervising playdates. Throughout the pandemic I also took on the responsibility of homeschooling, and worked both in person and online at various different points to provide an excellent standard of education and care throughout the year.
I have experience working with children with SEND (special educational needs and disabilities)
I've also worked regularly as a tutor for 9 years, with a breadth of experience from ages 4-18. I run group and individual sessions, and work across a broad range of subjects. I have particularly extensive experience in teaching KS1, KS2 and SATs & common entrance preparation, as well as English, History & RS tutoring at GCSE & A-Level.
I work full time as an English teacher at a secondary school in Hove, so am available throughout school holidays, and am available for evenings and weekends during term time.
