About Me

UPDATE : I am now working for a lovely family 3 days a week, but have availability for ad hoc child care & also available for babysitting. After April 2025 I will have more availability.

I now have availability for part-time nannying & after school care, Mon-Thurs (preferably 3 days a week) happy to include earlier starts to prepare children’s (& family meals) & do light household duties. Also flexible to stay later into evening at times if required.
I am qualified in NVQ Level 2 & 3 in Childcare & Learning Development. I have over 18 years experience in child care & hold various training certificates including First Aid & Paediatric First Aid, Safeguarding, Food Handling. I hold a continuation DBS check, have liability insurance, a full clean driving licence with business use insurance. I worked for 12 years in a village pre school setting & also ran a breakfast & after school club. I have worked with speech development issues, & various areas within the special needs of children. I have a wide knowledge of the EYFS & experience in Tapestry on line learning journals. I chose to go down the route of nannying, about 7 years ago as I feel I can really put my skills into actually caring for the children I work with more, rather than spending too much time “observing & writing about them”, however, in my nanny roles I provide an “ongoing log” of the days spent with my charges which I was told was great for the parents to receive photos & messages about their children’s days whilst they were at work.

The fact that I am a “mature nanny” has many times been one of the factors that my previous nanny families have employed me plus my 18 years experience in child care & life skills. I thoroughly enjoy working within the child care sector & will go over & above to fulfil my role. I would describe myself to be flexible, caring & have a great sense of humour. I have no childcare commitments of my own as my son is 24 & has finished his degree & Masters at Cambridge University & has started his first job in the Engineering industry. I consider myself to have excellent communication skills as I believe communication is the key to a good working partnership, I enjoy providing age related fun activities for children. In my spare time I enjoy cooking, love animals, including looking after my pet & cat & enjoying days out in my MX5 sports car.

Liz was brilliant. We visited England from Australia for a wedding and planned to have a sitter for the reception. It was so lovely to connect with Liz right away and have a FaceTime discussion to meet face to face virtually. Communication leading up to night was really good. And we got lovely updates throughout the night and she just did such a wonderful job with Harriet and she was very happy all night. High recommend!

It was an absolute pleasure to look after Harriet, we had such a fun time & a great connection. Thank you so much for sending photos of her 1st Birthday to me, it was much appreciated. 😊
