About Me
I am a mature, caring, kind, responsible, reliable person offering child care or an extra pair of hands to a busy family. My previous career has been in the Pharmaceutical Industry and more latterly as a Science Technician in Education. For nearly six years I was an after-school Nanny to two siblings for the same family which finished in 2024 when the younger child moved up to secondary school. I have a full clean driving licence, enhanced DBS, insurance and paediatric-first aid trained. I’m also an experienced pet owner (cats and dogs). References available.
My Experience
I have experience as a Mother to my son now aged 26.
Professionally, I have taken care of two children, now aged 12 and 15 for nearly six years as an after school Nanny, four afternoons a week plus ad-hoc in the school holidays. During the COVID pandemic, I also supervised their home schooling. Prior to that, I had some shorter term assignments which included taking care of toddlers and an older baby.
Since leaving the family, when the younger child started secondary school in 2024, I have had a few short term ad-hoc assignments, taking care of children ranging from 18 months to 9 years, including three overnights.
I continue to look for new opportunities on an ad-hoc/flexible basis, overnights or cover for holidays etc.
I would also consider an after-school, term-time role, ideally two afternoons a week.
My Qualifications
Educated to Degree level (Psychology), including modules on child development.
Paediatric first-aid trained.
My Availability
Potentially most days of the week from September 2024. Flexible but with some regular commitments. Please contact me to discuss.
