About Me

Hello, my name is Gail. I have been a registered childminder in Kirkcaldy since 2006. I live with my husband, 3 children and our family dog.

The hours i offer range from 8am to 600pm Monday to Friday, however, other hours can be negotiated.(Occasional weekends by arrangement) i try to be as flexible as i can. But spaces fill up quickly. Short term and Summer holiday cover contracts are available too.

I care for a mixed age group from 6 months to 12 years.
I do try to keep numbers to a minimum so everyone in my care has individual attention, something you can't get at a noisy nursery.

At present, I collect and drop off from Fairisle Nursery and Primary School

My home is a safe, fun, and friendly environment where I provide activities and toys to help children explore the world through play, as well as baking, arts and crafts, role play, gardening and wildlife,and educational computer play.

We use the local area for lots of fun adventures for example we regularly visit libraries, beaches, woods and parks and I have a good sized enclosed garden with outdoor play equipment.

I have certificates in Paediatric first aid and child protection which benefit the children i care for. I am PVG registered with a full disclosure check, Public Liability Insurance and I am a member of the Scottish Childminding Members Association .
My last inspection by the Care Inspectorate in May 2018 graded me again as a "very good" service (overall 5 out of 6) which is wonderful to know him continuing to give the best care i can give to the wonderful children in my care.

Amongst others, I've had a few families who are still with me since the start and its been a joy to see them grow up happy and content and know I've had a tiny hand in that. The families i have had the pleasure to work along with over the years have become part of our family and i get to see past and present children regularly which is a great treat.
