About Me
Hello, I am an experienced primary school teacher, currently working as a supply. In my spare time, I teach piano and singing. Creativity and fun is the most important to me when working with children whilst keeping them safe and exposing them to new experiences. I speak 5 languages - English, Slovak, Polish, Czech and basic Spanish. I enjoy spending time in outdoors and exploring the world.
My Experience
During teacher training at Newman University I have undertaken work placements with a range of primary
aged children from 4-11 in a variety of schools. Over this time, I have built on my experiences and have learnt to be a reflective practitioner and develop a deeper insight into the expectations and progression of schools.
Since graduating, I have gained experience in Spain working as an EAL Teacher with learners from 5 to adult.
This has provided me with a better understanding on how to identify and develop teaching and learning
strategies based on individual educational needs and learning styles as well as while class teaching and a
differentiated approach to challenge and stretch learners as well as progress those requiring additional help.
This variance has taught me to confidently approach new challenges as well as that of working autonomously as part of a wider team.
During this time, I have also undertaken courses in Jolly Phonics and Advanced Methodologies to English
Teaching (AMET). I have also achieved The Catholic Certificate of Religious Studies (CCRS) and two
specialist masters modules in Humanity and Creativity. All of these opportunities have enabled me to enhance my specialist knowledge of humanities and its connection with creativity.
Being a supply teacher has shown me how to quickly adapt to various classroom environments. I have taught across whole range of primary school ages and subjects. Having limited time to prepare for lessons, often had to think on my feet to adapt to the all learning and emotional needs, whilst meeting the classroom expectations. This has strengthened my subject knowledge and also taught me to use various behaviour management strategies.
