About Me
I am Emily, a registered children’s nurse as well as an Ofsted registered childminder, based in Beaulieu, Chelmsford.
I have been married to my husband Paul for seven years and we have two children, Isla and Jude. Isla attends the local primary school and Jude is at home with me. We also have a cockerpoo puppy Teddy a cat called Fifi and a rabbit (Sparkle- named by the children!) All pets are supervised at all times whilst the children are in my care. Our dog teddy attends a dog sitter so isn’t always present when childminding.
I aim to provide a loving, nurturing environment for your child as well as offering lots of stimulating activities and most importantly having lots of fun whilst we learn.
I live near lots of parks and open spaces enabling me to take the children out and explore. I also have a safe secure garden. I aim to regularly take children out to various settings such as toddler groups, farms and soft play, to enrich their experience while in my care.
I provide full day care (0800-18:00) for babies and preschool children as well as offering a before and after school service for the Beaulieu Park school.
My Experience
I have worked with children since the age of seventeen - initially as a Nanny for a family with two children aged five years and eighteen months. From doing this, I instantly knew whatever I did for my career I wanted to work with children. Once I had finished my A-levels, I undertook a diploma in Children’s Nursing at City University and then obtained a degree in Children’s Nursing in 2014 at King’s College University. I have thoroughly enjoyed my nursing career, but with two children of my own and shift work patterns, I decided to change career path and become a childminder.
In April 2019, I obtained a diploma in EYFS teaching through the New Skills Academy to enable me to provide and meet the EYFS requirements as well as having lots of fun. From undertaking this course, I have gained knowledge and understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum and will provide learning opportunities; for example: messy play, mark making, problem solving, as well as plenty of outdoor activities in a caring environment.
I have a current paediatric first aid certificate in addition to achieving my level 3 in the safeguarding procedures relating to both adults and children. Recently, I have also refreshed my PREVENT training.
