Hi! My name is Josie and pronouns are they/them. I'm a creative, fun and colourful person! I practise Gentle and respectful Parenting, as well as the Montessori approach in my work; something I am very passionate about. I'm fascinated by how children develop, all things psychology and view the child as a whole (holistic) when it comes to their needs. Babywearing is also something I really love and believe it brings the child and me closer together. Sustainability and a plant-based lifestyle are also things important to me, and I’d really like to find a family to work with that shares the same/similar values - but not essential. Being outdoors is a must, children thrive in the fresh air, exploring their natural environment! :)

I'm currently looking for a new position as my contact is about to end with my current nanny families. I live in Bristol and can travel anywhere in the area (and surrounding areas). I would love to work with one family full-time (35+ hours a week, split over 4 or 5 days) or happy to do a nanny-share/work with a few families to make up the hours.

I'm looking to complete a maternity nurse course in the next year, to then go on to become a doula!

I've recently worked with a lovely little 20m old for 4 months, ad hoc work with a baby 7m + , and 2 under 3years (3yo + 1yo), one of which has ASD. Previous to this,
i spent the last 13 months working with a wonderful family; starting with boy who was 10.5m when I started (now 2 years) and introduced new baby girl in May (now 5m) - I also have experience working with children and families with Cystic Fibrosis. I have worked closely with the parents and the CF team and am very confident with the ins and outs of daily life with CF (e.g. physio, keeping things extra clean, stagnant water, etc.) I am comfortable taking the children to doctors appointments also. Since seeing the impact of CF on the families, and how I can be of help, I'd love to offer my 1+year experience in this to help out another family similarly.

I have experience with children aged newborn up to 10 years, and am very confident with babies and toddlers. I view the toddler years as some of the most fun, even if hard, years! These are the years the children are figuring out the world and themselves, and its so important for us to support them in the right way.


I am constantly reading up on gentle parenting/Montessori realted topics, and similar, to expand my knowledge, as well as studying online courses.
