About Me
My name is Jacky and I live in the countryside just outside of town with my husband and 2 children, 1 boy and 1 girl. My third child, also a boy, is 25 and lives and works away. My middle son is 21 and works in the setting as my fully qualified Assistant. My daughter is 14 and is in year 10 at the local Senior School. I have been an independent Childminder for 11 years.
My setting is based around a Safe and Caring Home Environment. I have a dedicated and fully equipped Childminding room with adjoining bathroom. Outside I have 2 gardens complete with playhouse and outdoor play equipment and 10 resident ducks.
Regular activities include weekly visits to a local Children’s Centre to encourage social skills and interaction, visits to other toddler groups when hosting demonstrations from the Fire Service or Little Beasties etc., visits to local Parks, weather permitting, tending the vegetable garden and seed planting, filling the bird feeders, collecting the duck eggs, country nature walks.
Development activities include, focussed craft activities to include all major celebrations such as Easter, Pancake Day, Bonfire Night, Christmas, St Georges day etc., daily music time, toilet training, 1 to 1 and group time activities, child led activities, parent input, two way flow of information, regular baking, painting and crafting, Work books with picture evidence and written information of a child’s progress, 2 and 3 year progress checks and reports.
My Experience
I have worked in childcare for the last 18 years which all began when my middle child started attending Nursery. The nursery was looking for people to help out and I volunteered and became a regular helper. This subsequently led to a job offer and training in the necessary Childcare qualifications required. I accepted the offer and continued working at the nursery for the following 7 years. I was then instrumental in the creation of a new section of the nursery for age groups 2 to 3 to feed into the main nursery. I ran this new branch together with the help of a team of 2 others. In that year I became pregnant with my third child and while off on maternity leave I reflected upon my circumstances and decided to leave the nursery and establish myself as an independent Childminder working from home.

My Availability
I am flexible with regard to half days, either morning or afternoon. I am also flexible for odd spaced days and single days when available. I have a school child myself so reserve school holidays to spend with my own family but exceptions can be made depending on the individual circumstances, please contact for further information
