My Summary

My Experience

I am a fully qualified teacher having gained a PGCE in primary education from the Institute of Education, University of London. With over twelve years of experience, I have taught across all key stages in primary and special schools. As a result, I have sound knowledge of both the primary curriculum and the Special Educational Needs Code of Practice. I’m also CELTA trained, hold a Masters in English Literature, and am fluent in Spanish. Recently I’ve worked as Head of Learning Support/Senco at The Beacon School in Amersham, and prior to this in state primary schools across London (including Special schools, Pupil Referral Units and an NHS children’s unit). I’m currently offering private tutoring for children who need extra support or a more personalised approach to the curriculum in order to reach their full learning potential. I am also available for 11+ tutoring, with a focus on developing exam technique and confidence, and reducing anxiety.

I’m a mother of three (currently all under the age of two!) so can empathise deeply with some of the challenges of parenting. I will always seek to work closely with parents for I believe that teacher-parent cooperation and consistent messaging is key in promoting children’s self-confidence, resilience, and motivation to learn.

I am currently tutoring via zoom, but as soon as lockdown eases would hope to continue face-to-face with any local pupils.
