My Summary
About Me
I am a highly experienced and dedicated practitioner and SENDCo. My expertise lie within Special Educational Needs, reasonable adjustments and access arrangements. I am committed to teaching, with a huge passion for making learning a personalised and exciting journey for all children. I have a strong belief that children get one shot at school and deserve nothing but outstanding. I have an excellent knowledge of the National Curriculum, current teaching methods and JCQ regulations, as well as the SEND Code of Practice, inclusive approaches and exam access arrangements. I pride myself on having the ability to create a positive, safe and secure learning environment for all young people. I build strong relationships with pupils and families and have shown commitment in supporting them.
I am passionate about working with children who, for whatever reason, cannot access education in the school setting. My aim is to teach children, whilst showing them how brilliant they are and building them back up after the System has let them down.
My specialisms are Year 2 SATS, Year 6 SATS, plugging gaps in learning, Special Needs and exam access arrangements.
I am a qualified exams access arrangements assessor, so can carry out educational investigations to identify any areas that may put your child at a disadvantage (learning wise) in comparison to their peers.
I tutor from my own home, which has an abundance of exciting resources. Alternatively, I am happy to offer tutoring online.
I am also available to support with home education.
My Experience
I have over 19 years’ experience of teaching. In addition to this, I am a qualified SENDCo and have worked in this capacity since 2015, supporting students from 3-18 years, supporting a huge variety of needs including Dyslexia, global developmental delay, speech and language needs, processing delay, ADHD, Autism, Down Syndrome, SEMH needs, to name a few. I have an ability to individualise teaching to the child and break down any barriers to their learning opportunities.
I have provided booster classes in Maths, Writing, Grammar and Reading Comprehension, in preparation for Year 2 and Year 6 SATS, as well entrance exams.
As part of my inclusion role, I have a vast amount of experience in identifying and ‘closing the gap’ in children’s learning. I have worked directly with children (1:1 or in small groups) who need to accelerate their progress in order to reach their full potential and have a proven track record of achieving this.

Emma and I have worked together for a number of years, she is a true professional, kind, caring and considerate of others, both children and adults. Emma's commitment to her teaching role is outstanding and she has a great talent of unpicking the needs of individual children, as well as being able to identify how to fill the gaps in their learning in a nurturing manner.
Emma is a wonderful teacher and I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend her.
I have found our experience with Emma to be extremely professional and wonderfully helpful. My child’s confidence has come on leaps and bounds. Her prices are more than reasonable, I have recommended her services to all of my parent friends, whose children may need additional help or to freshen/sharpen topics. She listens to feedback from parents to ensure that their child receives the highest quality of education. We Cannot recommend her highly enough. You won’t be disappointed.
Emma is absolutely fantastic with the children, she has bought my children on no end with her kind, caring, nurturing nature and amazing experience and subject knowledge, as a teacher myself I would highly recommend Emma, especially in the area of special needs she’s been fantastic!
Emma has an incredible way of engaging all children in learning and attempting challenging tasks. She is able to make the children feel safe and secure, as well as having clear boundaries. I trust her implicitly with my children.
Emma has been amazing for x2 of my children. They are very different with different needs and she has very successfully accessed their individual needs with great success. I was concerned with gaps in their learning and each child has struggled with confidence. Emma has enabled them to close the gaps and gain hugely in confidence which has hugely moved their learning forward.
