About Me
Hello, my name is Rebecca and I am a Ofsted registered Childminder at Bear Cubs in Shortstown, Bedford. I live with my husband and two sons (9 months and 4 years old.)
Some of the things we love at Bear Cubs are; open-ended toys, messy play, arts and crafts, time outside, nature, staying active, baking and healthy eating.
Within my home children will have access to the living room, kitchen-diner, and downstairs toilet. There is a fully enclosed private garden out the back and good access to local play parks, nature walks and activity groups.
I use the professional childcare program Baby's Days which enables me to easily track and share with you your child’s learning and development in line with EYFS (early years foundation stage). The software allows for easy two-way communication. You will be able to view your child’s daily diaries, photos, and observations via the app and share your own observations.
My Experience
Prior to becoming a registered Childminder in 2019 I worked for five years as an Outdoor Activity Instructor at Woburn Center Parcs. As part of this role I instructed a variety of different sessions for children and adults.
Additionally, I have over twenty years’ experience working in several different jobs involving supporting and caring for children of varying ages and abilities. This includes nine years’ experience working with children with Autism and additional needs.
Before my first son was born I worked at a fellow Childminder’s setting from 2018-2020. Over the years I have cared for children and babies of family and friends, including raising my own two boys.
We use cloth nappies and am therefore experienced and happy to accommodate other children in cloth (or disposables).

We were so lucky to have found Rebecca. She is highly professional, reliable, and an extremely organised childminder. Her love for children and professionalism reflects greatly in her work as well as our son’s development and behaviour.
We have been with Rebecca for the last six months and our son loves her; Not only has he started to learn new words in English (as it’s not his first language) but also we see a huge change in his ability to manage his feelings and emotions.
We feel that no day is the same with Rebecca and she puts great effort into planning his daily activities. Our son comes home happy and is always looking forward to go back the next day.
Most of all, we can feel at ease whilst at work and to know that our son receives nothing but the best care. We cannot recommend her highly enough!

Rebecca finding us was amazing!
From coming out of lock down to going back to work, we thought it would be hard enough, also having to find childcare was another thing, Rebecca made myself and partner feel so confident for her to look after our son Oscar. The care, commitment, patience and a good sense of humor Rebecca is providing for Oscar is fantastic! She has gone above and beyond for ourselves and Oscar! We are happily staying with Rebecca and hopefully one day have another little one to be cared for by Rebecca in the future.
We would highly recommend Rebecca to everyone looking for childcare for their little ones,

Rebecca looked after my son and daughter, Joey and Imogen for two years. In the space of the two years, she offered fantastic care towards my children, and they loved going to spend their day with her whilst I went to work. Becca went above and beyond to help us, including collecting/dropping of my children. My kids enjoyed the activities during their time spent there and were very happy. At the end of their session, I was always updated on what they had been up to/what they have had to eat/nappy changes ect. I highly recommend using Rebecca if you are in need of a childminder!

We met Rebecca at her previous employment and our kids loved her. She is great around the kids and very reliable.
Our kids will be disappointed that she won’t be coming back but this gives you a great opportunity to book your kids in with her!
