My Summary

My Experience

I grew up in a family of four children, with parents who also regularly took in at-risk infants to foster. Until they could either be adopted, or returned to their families. This instilled in me a love for being around and working with children, which I continued to explore while growing up.

Growing up with my mother's motto 'the world is your classroom.' I explored many educational opportunities that offered me the chance to work with children. At 14 I became soccer referee certified through the Soccer Association for Youth, and spent my weekends working with children playing soccer, and refereeing games. At 16 I got my lifeguard certification, worked at my local YMCA, and in the summers my community outdoor pool. Lifeguarding, and teaching swim lessons. I also worked with the local girl-scout troop, and homeschool co-op utilizing my experience in the arts to teach classes.

I have extensive babysitting experience, with a wide variety of ages. My summer positions at both Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet and Long Lake Camp for the Arts taught me how to manage and discipline children kindly and effectively, organize outings and trips, as well as games and crafts. Working with children in these states, I have successfully passed background checks in the state of New York, Ohio, and Pennsylvania. I would happily pass similar qualifications in the UK. I spent my junior and senior year of college working as a part-time nanny for a wonderful family and their infant daughter.

In addition to my qualifications for working with Children I enjoy cooking, and am experienced with a wide variety of diets including: gluten-free, Paleo, AIP, and vegetarian. I play the piano, love to read and craft, play outdoors, and compete in triathlons. I took some Hindi in college, and lived in Delhi from the ages 1-3. I have also taught English to Chinese speaking students during my semester abroad at Tsinghua and love engaging in educational play.

I simply love children, love caring for them and am seeking to support myself in my degree program with some weekend or evening babysitting or nannying.

My Qualifications

CPR/First Aid certified, passed background checks in three states in the US and am happy to comply to something similar in the UK, Lifeguard and swim teacher qualified.

My Availability

I am in a flexible program, so I have quite a lot of flexibility with hours. Can be available in an emergency, but would prefer steady weekend or evening hours.
