About Me
Hi, my name is Jo. I am a mother to three boys aged between 24 and 7. I offer a warm and inviting home for all children. The whole downstairs of my home (apart from kitchen) is dedicated to my minded children. We have a cosy corner under the stairs for quiet time and reading when the children need it. My living room is set up with several activity areas and is where we eat our lunch and have nap time for the children who nap. This follows out to my garden which has a full canopy for shade and rain so can be used whatever the weather. The garden has lots of different areas including sand and water play, mud garden, play house, climbing frame etc. At the end of the garden I have an out building that is fully carpeted and double glazed with underfloor heating that also has lots of different areas dedicated to different activities. My aim is to give children in my care the home from home experience with individual educational, personal, emotional and physical support they need. I book and plan various activities, including local stay and plays, farm, soft play, library, park etc in advance.
I have experience of looking after children with special needs including autism, epilepsy and type 1 diabetes.
I have cared for children that have come to me as early as 5 weeks and have stayed with me until nursery. I am happy to use breast milk when provided.
I understand it is a difficult process leaving your child with somebody else, so together we will do our best to make it as smooth as possible for both you and your child.
My hourly rate is £9.50 per hour which includes all meals and snacks which are home cooked and healthy, (unless special requirements) nappies, wipes and all activities. I do offer weekly and daily rates also.
Please note: I do have a dog. He is mostly out with either the dog walker or my partner during the days, but when he is home, he is kept in his own secure area of the garden.

My Qualifications
I have completed my childminding course and am OFSTED inspected and registered. I have a level 3 certificate in paediatric first aid and am DBS certified. I am also Green rated from Islington council.

My son loved going to ‘Nanny Jo’. It was a home away from home and it felt like he was part of the family.
Jo was very caring and always happy and enthusiastic looking after my son. He had good meals and really enjoyed playing in the garden every day. It was a very loving environment and I would definitely recommend.

My Daughter goes to Jo full time as I have gone back into full time work and I cannot stress enough how much at ease Jo has made me feel. My daughter is currently 18 months old and she runs into Jo’s arms every morning and is so happy at pick up. Safeguarding is a top priority, The setting is child friendly, my daughter’s development has blossomed in all areas, and communication is at 100%. Jo is attentive, calming and creates such a happy environment for the children.

As a new parent it was incredibly daunting trying to find suitable childcare for my son, and I was a bag of nerves initially but I have been able to fully put my trust in Jo who has proven to be an excellent childminder. Since my 10 month old has been with Jo he is the happiest he has ever been. Jo clearly loves her job and will do anything for the children under her care. She has created a fun, supportive, engaging and loving environment for these little ones and my son comes home beaming every day. Her communication is great and she is willing to go above and beyond to support us as parents too. Would highly recommend.

Jo provides a safe and loving space with frequent toddler discos and my little one comes home happy after a day there. Jo has been dependable, reliable and flexible. She saved us when I had food poisoning and she provided extra childcare at short notice.
I have no hesitation in recommending Jo as an excellent childminder.

I couldn’t speak more highly of Jo and it’s hard to describe into words how much she has been of a support for me and my daughter. She goes above and beyond in many ways!
My daughter was 10 months old when she started with Jo and has been with her for over 2 years. Jo has always been great at communicating, provided homecooked warm meals, outings to local playgrounds/soft play centres, an excellent garden for kids.. but what I mainly valued and am grateful for is her generous caring and loving side. My daughter build a beautiful relationship with Jo and this was all I could ask for and more. My daughter has now settled into a school setting and has grown into a confident, caring, happy and social little girl.

Nanny Jo has made such a huge difference to our lives. Our daughter is very happy and flourishes under her care, and she has made my emotional adjustment from working woman to working mum much easier by sending photos and messages, and by being so organised. She is great fun, kind and thoughtful, and treats the children in her care with great warmth and affection. Jo and the kids are always up to something fun, whether it is trips to the park, soft play, visiting the farm, or playing at home. We feel incredibly lucky to have her!

Jo has been the most kind and caring childminder for our 3 year old for over a year now. He loves going to nanny Jojo’s and is always excited to see her. Jo is incredibly attentive to his needs, great with doing activities and has a wonderful warm and enthusiastic energy. I highly recommend Jo.

Jo has been caring for my son since he was five months old. She is responsible, organised and above all exceptionally caring. My son clearly adores her and loves spending time in her home. She takes time to understand a child's individual needs and then build them into the plan for the day, organising fun, age appropriate activities that all the children can participate in. She sends photos and updates during the day, and keeps a log of food/sleep/nappies which I've found very helpful when adjusting to time away from my son.
We did a significant amount of research including several meetings and trials with other childcare providers before choosing to go with Jo and my husband and I couldn't be happier with our choice. While her setting might not be the largest of the places that we looked at it, is filled with love and laughter and provides everything that our son needs.

Jo was has been very warm and helpful from the get go. Initially I only needed a childminder for a month but my son settled so well I decided to carry on with Jo for the rest of the year. She has a tonne of fantastic toys and books at home and is incredibly active in terms of going on day trips. My son has really enjoyed the variety of experiences these day trips have given him. Jo has exceeded my expectations in every way and I’d wholeheartedly recommend her.

Jo is the perfect choice to look after anyone’s little one!
She’s made for the job which she does and has adjusted her home setting perfectly to accommodate little people; she’s got plenty of toys and educational posters and pictures, the lighting is adjustable making nap time easy and she’s childproofed the area with gates etc.
Jo is very genuine, friendly and also experienced, professional and fair.
Our little boy has just turned 3 and tends to be quite shy. He surprised us with how relaxed he was within minutes of meeting Jo (her extensive Thomas collection definitely helped!) and the next day he spent his first day with Jo. On collecting him, he didn’t want to leave! As parents this made us feel so reassured that our boy was happy and well taken care of. Furthermore, Jo would update us throughout the day with little messages and pictures of his day (the library, soft play, creative time) which was a lovely touch.
We plan to keep working with Jo for the foreseeable and couldn’t recommend her more.
