My Experience

I have worked in an Ofstead outstanding free flow day nursery with children from 2-5 years of age in Redland for 6 years. In 2018 my role changed from Early Years Educator to part time children’s storyteller. I adore telling traditional tales, myths and legends to children, it can help in developing their social and listening skills, expand language and communication and increases imagination. It can help to enhance their understanding of other people’s feelings (emotional literacy and intelligence) and their critical thinking skills. This is because they are not just listening to a story, they become a part of the story, their ideas are listened to and can be included, building stories together. This is the wonder of oral storytelling, it is in a constant state of flux, forever changing, the children become collaborative storytellers. A very necessary life skill, after all it is the way we communicate with one another. In January 2019 I became an independent storyteller.
From September 2019, I worked as a part time nanny for a local family alongside my storytelling. Sadly that post has now come to an end. I am searching for another part time nanny role with young children.
I have invaluable personal experience as a parent, as a nursery educator and working as a nanny, for children from newborn babies up to 10 years of age.
My degree has given me the knowledge and understanding into how young children learn through play, whilst working within a supportive nurturing nursery environment that values knowledgeable, well educated, creative, reflective staff. It has enabled me to put theory into practice in all my roles working and caring for children. I have enjoyed the flexibility that working as a part-time nanny provides and I am now looking for my next family, or two, to work with.

BA Honours Degree in Early Years Education

My Availability

Flexible Monday to Friday (Mornings/afternoons). Or two/three full days. Evenings and weekends are possible depending on availability. Overnight by negotiation.

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Nannying from £15.00 per hour (gross)

From £15:00 per hour During Daytime. Evening From £15:00 per hour. Plus travel costs. Weekends and Overnight negotiable From £15+ (Self employed).
