About Me
Ofsted registered childminder in Hatfield (Birchwood area). I am located a 5 minute walk from Birchwood nursery and school and currently pick up from both. Full time and part hours available, please email or message me to enquire and book in a visit.
I try to offer a home from home setting and am child-led. I follow the interests of the child/ren and plan activities and crafts based on them. I also plan my own activities in order for the children to be able to achieve their next steps in terms of learning and development. We attend local play groups and classes. As well as venturing out into the community shops, cafes and libraries.
Working hours are Monday-Friday 8:00 a.m- 5:30 p.m

Myself and my assistant (my mum Toni) provide a home from home experience meaning the children will feel safe and secure while in my care to explore and develop. The children will have access to the downstairs of my house which includes a newly renovated play room with lots of space, toys and recourse designed to help develop the children’s 7 main areas of learning. A large kitchen area for arts and crafts, messy play and of course this is where we will eat our breakfast, lunch, tea and snacks. From the kitchen the children will have access to the garden area which is enclosed by a face and locked gate. The garden is full of resources such as ride along bikes, scooters and a climbing frame with slides as well as a brand new XXL mud kitchen, full of fun and exciting resources for the children to play, learn, grow and explore. We have multiple tuff trays which I use to plan activities in order to achieve the children’s next step. The garden has grass and pavement areas and lots of umbrellas to protect from the sun.
For sleeping babies I have a spare bedroom with travel cots and will be checked on regularly in person and via a monitor. For more information please don't hesitate to ask.
About me- I studied childcare while in school and at collage where I achieved a level 3 distinction. since then I have worked within childcare settings.
I worked in a children's sort play Centre and have lots of experience with children of all ages. From then I moved to a nursery where I worked with a range of children from birth to 5 years of age. I set up activities to help them develop their educational needs, teaching them basic skills they will need to get ready for school.
After working at the nursery I then became a private nanny to a lovely family whom I was with for 2 years before they started full time school. During my time here I had sole care of both children aged 1 and 3 at the time of starting. We would attend groups, went swimming, to the beach and public places such as local cafes, libraries, shops and many more. I would set up activities to help them develop and grow. I had a positive working and social relationship with the parents and can provide a reference upon request.
In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and dogs which are aged 1 years old, 3 years and 15 years of age. The dogs are up-to-date with worming and flea tablets as well as their vaccines. The children will never be left alone with the dogs at any given time and they will be locked away when the children are eating.

My Fees
- Babysitting from £10.00 per hour
- Childminding from £6.50 per hour
£6.50per hour minimum 2 hours a day. This includes breakfast, lunch, dinner and snacks. As well as the cost of outings and attending play groups and soft play.
No fee if I am ill or on holiday.

Reliable, trustworthy, and wonderful with children – we can’t recommend Michelle and Toni enough. They’ve become like family to us, and we’re grateful every day for the love and attention they show our little girl!

Choosing a childminder felt like a scary thing to me, but my baby settled so well with Michelle and Toni! Communication has been excellent since day one, and both Toni and Michelle have made us all feel so welcome and content. Our baby now smiles and points at the door before we’ve even knocked!
Michelle and Toni adapt the activities so well for her age, and she does so many messy and exploratory activities I know I would never think of doing at home with her. Probably a ‘better than home’ from home environment in our babies eyes :)

Michelle and Toni are both so amazing with my 3 yr old son. He has been with them now since April 2023 and is so happy with them. Michelle is extremely thorough and content focused with the children's learning experiences and has dedicated the whole bottom of her house to the children for play and activities. The children go outside each day and play in the sandpits and slide. They have a play kitchen and plenty of room to roam around. The living room has dedicated zones for play with a range of toys and even costume play. My son is very willing to spend each day with them and has made some friends along the way. I couldn't recommend Michelle's child care enough, she is so kind and patient with the children and you can tell she loves them. I feel very confident leaving my child in her care and know she gives her best each day to them. She also has fully kitted out car with safety car seats to take the children to Willows farm, splash parks, museums. The children will never get bored. They have recently been out to the firefighters show day in Welwyn which the children loved. I will be sad to leave to send my son to school soon as I know he come on leaps and bounds with his learning. He will miss her too I am sure. Plus the doggies! I am thrilled with Michelle and Toni's care for my child. Initially worried about the new setting, my toddler now considers them as best friends, thanks to their genuine passion and dedication in caring for him. Commendable!

I have a 2 year old little girl who is currently going through some autism assessments and is also non verbal. Michelle and Toni are brilliant with her, I was a little nervous leaving her with people she isn’t familiar with, but she now has a great relationship with Michelle and Toni, always has cuddles and lots of attention. They meet her needs well, they support and teach her so much as they make activities so fun and interesting. They also go above and beyond to make sure my little one is comfortable and happy. I couldn’t ask for a better childminder at all and I’m 100% sure my daughter will love them both more and more as she grows older. Thank you Michelle and Toni for being the absolute best!
