About Me
I work with my assistant who is also my daughter Sally. Myself and Sally have been operating since March 2020.
Our childcare setting caters for early years education while still maintaining a homely feel. We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage and Development Matters. We promote equality, inclusion and diversity in a safe and comfortable environment for children to learn through play. Children are encouraged to experience new things, build self-confidence and develop social skills.
A typical day consists of activities centered around the topic of the week, periods of free play inside and outside, as well as music/movement and story time.
We go on long nature walks by the River Wey and the back of Brooklands Museum where the children can see old planes and busses. We watch cars from Mercedes Benz World going around the test track and we also take the children for walks up to Weybridge Train Station to watch the trains coming and going.
We provide a healthy hot meal, snacks, water and milk throughout the day and a light tea for those children who are with us for a full day. We take the children on occasional trips to play parks and National Trust gardens. We also take the older children on occasional trips to the theatre.
We provide a sleep time for little ones and quiet play/rest time for older children.
We have a fully equipped and resourced dedicated large play room and enclosed rear garden for supervised play.
We use a management system called Famly to share with you observations, photos, detailed personal care and invoices.
We take up to six children per day.
My Experience
We have taken children from 7 months through to school. Previous to that, apart from raising my own children and babysitting my granddaughter, I have worked as a peripatetic music teacher at St James, Cleves and Heathside schools, also teaching young musicians on residential music weekends with members of the London Symphony Orchestra, and teaching privately. Sally has previously worked as a teaching assistant at Byfleet Primary before moving on to work at Guildford Magistrate Court (a little bit different!). Mine and Sally's employment before childcare was as legal PAs but we felt that we needed a more rewarding career, although lawyers need similar care!
My Qualifications
Sally and I have completed an ANSA Introduction to Childminding and Safeguarding Children training course. We continuously update our training in all areas of childcare. Sally and I have paediatric first aid certificates with training provided by TigerLily and enhanced DBS certificates. I am a member of both Childcare.co.uk and Pacey. All certificates are available to view at our setting.
My Availability
Monday to Friday 8am to 5.30pm for 18 months to 4 years.

My Fees
- Childminding from £8.50 per hour
£68 per day for up to 8 hours
£85.50 per day for 8 hours plus
£34 per morning session up to 1pm
This includes all food, nappies, outings, etc.
Fees remain payable during periods of absence, including sickness. No fee is payable for our sickness or holidays (including bank holidays). We do not provide a separate afternoon session.
We also provide full day care during school holidays at a fee of £9 per hour (subject to availability) for 2 to 4 years.

My daughter has been with Gill and Sally for 5 months now and she absolutely adores them. It has a real home from home feel and I know my little girl is very well looked after, she always comes home immaculately clean and still in the same clothes after a full on day of eating and fun (I’ve no idea how they do it!). It’s a very professional set up and the childcare role is taken very seriously. Food is freshly prepared, and daily updates are provided via an easy to use web app. I cannot recommend them enough.
