My Summary
About Me
My name is Tamara and I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since 2006. I am a Network childminder and also a Forest childcare provider and a member of the Forest Childcare Association. We spend a lot of time having fun and learning through play doing forest school type activities in the natural environment. My creative back ground means that I love to share art and craft, messy play and cooking activities.
I am a proud mummy of two now grown up children - my daughter who is 23years and my son who is 19 years.
We moved to this area in February 2005 - just before my son was born. After leaving school I trained for 3 years as a professional chef. Then travelled and worked extensively around Australia and South east Asia for two years. For 17 years I worked successfully as a make up artist.
My partner owns his own restaurant in the Olympic Park.
My aim is to provide a professional, high quality, caring, stimulating and educational enviroment where children can have fun.
I encourage children to be confident, independent and to develop their own self esteem. There is a wealth of opportunity for both structured and flexable learning. To treat children as individuals but with equal concern, with kindness, consideration and respect. To make children feel valued and wanted by giving them time to be listened to and praising efforts. To enable children to become confident and help them achieve thier full potential.
I organise activities to support the individual child’s play and learning. Many of these are designed to help use their language, imagination and mathematical thinking. I provide a warm friendly and relaxed environment where children feel safe and secure and parents feel at ease.
My ethos is to work in partnership with the parents to provide a loving, home like enviroment for all the children in my care.
My Experience
I provide a quality childcare service in a safe, friendly relaxed home environment. I received an overall Good for my last Ofsted inspection. I am an accredited network childminder and regularly attend training.
I undertake any relevant training where possible and keep up to date with childminding regulations and legislation.
I am a member of the local childminding network group which is PACEY approved.
Of course my experiance as a mother is always invaluable.
I provide meals for children over 1 year with varied healthy home cooked meals.
My creative background means that we regularly do art and craft, messy play and cooking activities. I love to organise fun activities on our tuff tray for the children.
Walks and outings are also a regular feature of our day with visits to local playgroups, parks, feeding the ducks, Hainault country farm, children centres, library's, Epping Forest, play groups and other amenities in our local area.
I have a passion for the natural environment. We are members of the Woodland trust and World Wildlife foundation where we have adopted two endangered animals - a tiger and a polar bear and I find ways to share this with the children.
We love to grow vegetables in the garden every year with the children.
I provide a detailed daily diary for each child which is shared with the parents. A learning journey folder is meticulously compiled whilst at my childcare setting. This carefully observes the progress of learning and development of each child which is also regularly shared with parents.
I aim to provide a secure, stimulating and happy home from home environment for children and would love to welcome your child to my home.

Our little boy has just finished with Tamara after more than 4 years, ready to start reception. We’ve been delighted with the experiences and care he has had, especially the focus on being outdoors pretty much every day, doing lots of crafts, baking and play to develop everything from motor skills to maths and phonics. Tamara is brilliant at recording everything so we know what he’s up to every day and how he’s developing (and we have lots of lovely photos!) Food and nutrition is really important to me and I have been so pleased with the homemade meals and snacks our son was given - and zero complaints from him! Tamara has also been really helpful and supportive with things like toilet training and personal/social development. She is super reliable and organised, which was invaluable to me! She is also very kind, and made our little boy feel included in both the group of children at the setting and her own family. We will all miss her loads, and would wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a great childminder!
Amazing, Caring, Entertaining, Part of the family!
My daughter has had the best 4 years being here with Tamara who she now considers part of our family! Tamara offers a wide range of social activities, from arts and crafts to outdoor play & learning. She has a lot of time for all the children within her care and they all love her! For sure she has been the best choice we made for looking after our child.
Tamara has been a childminder to my children for over 5 years and she has been just amazing.
Tamara goes out with the children pretty much every day where they go to parks, forest and other lovely places with them including ongar air field and Westfield sand parks.
She would also spend time thinking up some amazing craft ideas for them that my kids both loved, this ranged from painting, cutting a sticked themed ideas. E.g animals based on books they are reading.
Tamara would also develop their cooking skills by making baked treats that the kids loved bringing home and eating.
Tamara also ensured she gave them a balanced healthy diet that they really enjoyed. The kids would always say how yummy the food was and ask me to make the same.
Tamara documents everything the children did including their Forrest school adventures. She would note down everything in their books so I could see what they did that day and what they ate. She would also create a folder full of photos of their adventures and progression stating the age in months of how they are progressing in early learning skills. This is a folder I will cherish as it has beautiful photos of the children.
Tamara has also been incredibly reliable, she never takes sick days and gives you plenty notice if she has booked any sort of holiday.
Tamara did lots of play learning as well and was amazing at giving advice on how to develop the children’s skills further if I was ever unsure on how to do this. She would have fun counting games with them and just really made learning fun for both of them.
If you are looking for a childminder I highly recommend Tamara, we are all really sad that the children will no longer be their but I know they will always remember her as the kind caring childminder that she is.
Thank you for everything Tamara you have been everything we could have hoped for.
When you are looking for someone to take care of your child, your pride and joy, your heart that is walking around outside of your body... you consider lots of things, location, cost how it works in your daily plan. We check the ratings and make sure they are credible and assured. Once we can see that it all works we go ahead and start that journey. Tamara is so much more than that.
Tamara is a person that I can wholeheartedly guarantee looks after your child as if she/he was her own.
Tamara takes your child and takes them on a journey of discovery..whilst you are at work chatting next the printer, your child is having fun on nature walks, baking, creating art, exercising amongst many other things. Children don't have idle minds when they are with Tamara!!
When I picked my daughter up from Tamara's the journey home would be filled with her excitedly telling me all the things she had experienced that day. And I mean EVERY day. Tamara's daily input into my daughter's childcare has been absolutely incredible and a wonderful experience for my daughter.
Thank you Tamara and family 💕 we miss you.
Both my children cared for by Tamara, We only left her care because we moved out of the area and we all miss her very much. Tamara provides a home from home for the children that lovely hot meals and varied activities, including the Forest School which is an added bonus.
