We love play-based early years education! We get out to lots of activities, and have a playground across the road.
I am OFSTED registered (rated GOOD) and work with one or two assistants. We follow the EYFS (Early Years Foundation Stage).
Where are we?
- 2min walk from Lower Sydenham train station. Check your commute using this landmark. There is free on-street parking on Worsley Bridge Rd.
We encourage independence and curiosity. We have an empathic and sturdy approach to discipline and boundary setting. We lead by example and have high expectations of the children's capabilities.
Does your little one like to go out?
- We like parks, libraries, playgroups, soft-play, play-dates, galleries, animals, museums, occasional cafes and concerts.
Do you enjoy cultural diversity?
- We do
When you’re at work, busy in the grown-up world, would you like your precious little person to be in a homely, caring atmosphere?
- Here they will be learning their ABCs and 123s with a group of little 1-3yo friends. They'll be singing, listening to stories, getting messy, challenging themselves, being silly and eating healthy food that we prepare ourselves.
Our bigger outings have included the Imagination Festival at Southbank, Tower Bridge, local outdoor theatre performance of Aesop's Fables, Tate Modern and Hampton Court Palace, Greenwich and the Maritime Museum, and the Wallace Collection to name a few.
Our smaller outings include visits to the school, the pet shop, the supermarket, the pharmacy, the hardware store, the optometrist, the mechanic, the hairdresser and other places in the community.

Rebecca has looked after both of my children (at different times!)
It was a no brainer to send my youngest to this setting after watching how my eldest thrived.
It would be easy to elaborate on all the ways in which the setting is wonderful (kindest and happiest staff that obviously LOVE children, fantastic thoughtfully prepared food, nuturing approach, a great balance of easy familiar routines and exciting adventures, the activities are always so creative etc etc) BUT I really think the only thing that needs to be said is - I trust rebecca with my children SO much. I would truly trust her to nourish their brains hearts and bellies more than I would trust pretty much anyone else in the world.

Oh my goodness, I might just cry! Thank you so much for your trust in us. We have all loved getting to know your family and I have especially loved spending time with little D & C.
I found Rebecca after attending her Rhyme Time sessions at Sydenham Library, the children in her care always seemed to be having lots of fun and getting lots of cuddles. As a first time mam choosing the right childcare felt like such a big decision and I had no hesitation in trusting Rebecca and her wonderful team with the care of our daughter. I love the fact there's children of all ages, (feels like she has lots of brothers and sisters), and they leave the setting regularly to go to galleries, museums and parks, although there's also a regular routine such as Rhyme Time on a Tuesday and a cooking activity once a week. The food at Rebecca's is amazing, the menu is shared with you in advance and is always incredibly healthy and nutritious. There's a core set of staff that my daughter adores and Parvan especially is amazing, whenever I mention her name my daughter shouts 'happy happy' - it's very sweet. I've found Rebecca to be very flexible and whenever I've needed extra days she's always accommodated my requests. We get daily updates about that day's activities with photos which is lovely to see. Unfortunately we have to leave the area so won't be able to attend anymore but are incredibly grateful to Rebecca and team for the 9 lovely months of care and education for our Daughter. Very sad to be leaving. Thank you Etoile!!! x

Awwww thank you - we miss you all so much! Must plan a visit out your way. I’d love to see how J is growing up. Bet she’s got loads to say now!!
It's hasn't been long since we left Rebecca, but l can already tell my little one misses her and her team. My daughter started with Rebecca at 11months to 17months. She had been home with me till that point, was very clingy and l was worried how she would settle without me. It didn't take long for her to settle in and at times refuse to come home because she was having that much fun.
She's become super confident and loves to sing and dance, all changes we noticed from the point she started with Rebecca and Team. Rebecca always greets you with a smile and keeps you regularly updated on now the children are getting on.
Your children will be in great, loving hands. Thank you Rebecca. We will miss every single one of you.

Response by Rebecca on 23/01/2025:
Tendie thank you so much for such a warm review and sharing your precious A with us. I wonder how little A is getting on in her new setting! She was so fun to have around. She’ll be a ray of sunshine wherever she goes, singing and dancing her way through life.
My boy started going to Rebecca just before he turned one and just loves each day.
I have never seen a group of children get on so well and play so happily together, Rebecca and her team of helpers are just magic, my boy gets such wonderful attention and has grown so much.
I particularly love the ability to be flexible, not only with our needs as parents but also for the children, how adaptable Rebecca and her team are to provide the best environment for the children on each day, if they are restless and not into the planned activity then they might go outside and do something else and vice versa; it really feels like my boy is just a part of a lovely large extended family. We attend each others birthday parties and the community is great. I was so nervous about putting him in childcare and viewed quite a lot of places but immediately just resonated with Rebecca and the team, the warmth, the love, the fun and the kindness shown to the children is just glorious and I love getting the updates via the app each day.
My boy has grown into a funny, charming, curious little being and I do feel that a large part of that is due to his time at Rebecca's where it is small enough for him to get the attention without being overwhelmed but also big enough to have interactions with other children of different ages, younger and older. It is just a wonderful inclusive loving and joyful family and I am so grateful that my boy is a part of that family for these key early years.

Ohhhh thank you so much Imogen. We love having A in our home and you all in our extended household too. It’s been a real pleasure to get to know you all as a family.
We are very happy we chose Rebecca as our son's carer. This was our first experience with childcare and he was with her from 1.5 to 3.5 years old, until he started preschool.
Starting from the settling in, Rebecca was attentive, flexible and caring and gave him everything he needed to feel safe during this big transition. In just a few weeks he was all settled in and for the rest of this time there he coudn't wait to go to Rebecca every morning. He went there happy and left even happier.
As a tri-lingual child, Rebecca made sure she supported him well by frequently asking about new words in our languages and making sure she is helping him build an equal vocabulary in English. We also loved that she takes the children on all kinds of adventures outside and serves them nutritious and healthy food.
It's been now a while since our son moved to preschool, but we still keep in touch and arrange playdates both with Rebecca and her children and also with other children and their parents who we met at the setting. We would choose Rebecca again and again as we trust her completely.

Thank you so much Pavlos. We absolutely loved having A in our home and he has a long-standing place in my heart. I look forward to seeing him keeping on developing as the curious, funny, calm and delightful person he is. I can’t wait to eat at his restaurant one day 😉
Rebecca helped us out at late notice, taking our 3 year old daughter for 1 day a week over a 2 month period when part of our nursery arrangements fell apart. This was an unsettling time for her, but Rebecca & her team's willingness, flexibility & clear rapport with Edith gave us the confidence that this would work out - and it has! Thank you everyone :-)

Thank you so much Cat. I hope E is doing well. What a fantastic love of books she has! I’m already thinking a career with words awaits her.
Rebecca has been an amazing first childcare experience for our daughter who started when she was one. Initially struggling to settle away from the home environment our daughter in no time was literally running down the corridor with a big smile on her face to get to the door and greet Rebecca with open arms. Just the mention of her name gets a big smile now.
Our experience of the childcare setting is like a home away from home. It's been lovely to watch our daughter create a whole new social circle at such a young age. The days seem to be filled with such a range of engaging and stimulating activities. And she even naps well too. The environment is clean and the food menu varied.
Unfortunately we have to leave Rebecca much sooner than we would like due to our eldest child's school being so far making it logistically impractical dropping them both!
We would highly recommend.

Response by Rebecca on 27/07/2023:
Thank you so much for your kind words, which I look forward to sharing with my assistants and family. We have really loved having your precious little one at our setting. She comes across as grounded, kind and calm with a cheeky sense of humour developing. It has been a true pleasure to watch her confidence grow and see her personality sparkle through. We will miss her. Definitely looking forward to the occasional drop-ins at Rhyme Time or any ad hoc days when you need them.
Rebecca and Co was our sons first childcare from 11 months and if it wasn’t for us moving, he would still be there. The setting is so welcoming, clean but also a great space with lots of toys and activities. We were immediately comfortable leaving him.
We would always pick him up with a smile on his face and he couldn’t wait to go back the next day.
Rebecca would always keep us updated on their activities through the day which was great and they would often have day trips to galleries, playgroups etc.
Our son still often mentions Rebecca and some of the other members of staff and we were sad we had to move on. Would highly recommend to anyone looking for childcare or is unsure about taking the step towards leaving their child in care.

Response by Rebecca on 15/05/2023:
Thank you so much for your kind words. It was our absolute pleasure to get to know you as a family and W. We wish you all the very best in your next chapter.
Our daughter has been with Rebecca since she was 10 months old and has thrived in her care.
Rebecca runs her setting like a big family with a lovely rhythm to the day, which the children get to know and expect. She has a huge range of activities and resources and gets them out to parks, toddler gym, playgroups, rhyme time and further afield to museums and activities in central london.
The kids are fed lovely homemade food with loads of plant-based fresh ingredients.
We have felt she really gets to know each individual child and has been so supportive of our daughter through babyhood and toddlerhood both through the “big milestones” such as learning to walk and toilet-training but also with everyday learning through song and play. She teaches the children to play kindly and gently with each other and it’s amazing to see how well they all get along!
She is warm and empathetic towards the children and we’ve been so happy with the care our child has received.

Thank you so much. It has been an absolute pleasure to get to know your family and we will miss you dearly when you move out of London.
This was our first experience of childcare and I can happily say it’s been a positive one. Our daughter adores going to Rebecca’s house and always has a huge smile on her face when we pick her up. We’ve always felt confident that our daughter was safe and well cared for which has been a huge relief. Rebecca is brilliant at providing lots of opportunities for the children to explore their community - they regularly go to playgroups, the library, parks and museums as well as other exciting trips a bit further afield. She also provides amazing meal options and catered to our daughters dietary needs with no issues.
In the time our daughter was there, Rebecca was also supported by some excellent assistants who were warm and attentive to the children’s needs. We are moving away from the area otherwise we’d have been happy to keep our daughter here.

Thank you for such a lovely review Charlie. It took me a while to realise I could leave a reply! I’ve been thinking of you all recently. Wondering how you’re all doing? Little Miss M must be loving being closer to grandparents. It was a pleasure to have her company while we did. I know T & Q would say the same!
