About Me
Hi, thank you for visiting my profile! My name is Emily and I am an Adult and Paediatric Registered Nurse. I am currently working at a Children’s Hospice and love working with children. Due to financial constraints (nursing doesn’t pay very well!), I am looking to pick up extra work child minding to boost my income. Not only this, but I find it truly rewarding and fun to work with children of all ages. I am a bubbly, enthusiastic, caring, and compassionate person both within my nursing role and in day to day life.
My Experience
I have been qualified as a nurse for nearly 2 years now. I begun my career in the Emergency Department, caring for the most critically ill children, to now working in my dream role at a Children’s Hospice. This role involves complex nursing and non-clinical skills, in an emotionally demanding role. Prior to my nursing, I worked as a care assistant at an adult hospice, and as a swimming teaching assistant for children under the age of 16. All my experience means I am a trust worth person to look after your children, and I have a natural affinity to care and build rapport with you and your family.
My Qualifications
I am Paediatric Immediate Life Support Trained, and I am Basic Life Support trained with the last year.
I graduated from the University of Southampton with a First Class Honours in Masters of Nursing, and have since gone on to do a university module at Kings College on Children’s Emergency Care and at Great Ormand Street on Paediatric Palliative Care.
My Availability
My shifts vary hugely so I can be very flexible. I am open to weekend and after school work where I can. I mainly work 9-5 so evening support would be more doable for me.
