Hi I’m Fiona and I have been an Ofsted registered childminder since June 2011 and have been graded good in my last 3 inspections.
I am married to Neil and we have 3 beautiful children. We also have 2 dogs, Billy & Lola and 2 rabbits, Huffle and Puffle.
I am based in Silverdale, Nottingham and the whole of the downstairs is registered for childminding. I have a large open plan kitchen and living area which is the heart of the home. A large fully enclosed back garden and a play room filled with toys, books and everything else ever needed for hours of playing and fun.
I strongly believe in children being children and love to encourage learning through play. Giving the child the tools to develop at their own time whilst being creative and having fun, which in our house is the most important rule!
My Experience
I became fully registered in June 2011 but have over 20 years experience raising my own 3 children.
My Qualifications
I am Ofsted registered, graded good in my last 3 inspections.
I have full liability insurance.

Understanding Anaphlaxis
Epipen Training

Both myself, my husband and my children have enhanced DBS’s

I offer a childminding service for children under 5 years of age between the hours of 8am until 5pm Monday to Friday.

It took me around 6 months to find a childminder that was as fantastic as Fiona because I didn’t just want to leave my baby with anyone who looked after children. We wanted her to be in an environment that would be similar to home but allow her to develop new skills and socialise with different children. Fiona has helped to shape and nurture our little girl in the time she was with her and helped to make her into a more confident person. We couldn’t speak any more highly of Fiona and what she has done, Georgie settled in straight away and I knew Fiona was someone I could trust with the most important thing in my life. Not only did Georgie have fun but she learned so many new things and brought home so many new crafts and cakes! Our little baby became an adventurous and confident toddler not afraid to try new things. We loved the fact the children had their own space and how clean and tidy it always was. The other children in the setting were also brilliantly behaved and set further examples of a great place to grow. The food Georgie ate was always balanced and healthy - she certainly didn’t go hungry! Fiona also took time to make sure the children went out regularly whether it be to the park or further afield to soft plays or twin lakes - something we try to do as a family so great it could be continued in the week. We loved the app updates on our little girls day and the pictures were such a comfort when I was at work and missing her so much. Seeing her happy and settled was just what I needed - and knowing I could drop Fiona a message whenever was perfect. We couldn’t recommend Fiona anymore highly :)

I am pleased to say I have used Fiona as my childminder and have had a good experience, the children are always happy and a have a good time with her. She is kind, caring and spends time interacting with the children through play, baking, and crafts.
