My Summary
About Me
I am a keen sports person & belive in living an outdoors healthy lifestyle. One of the reasons I enjoy being a Nanny is that you can get out & about with the children. Go to the park, swimming & go for walks. I believe children should spend as much time outdoors as possible!
In my spare time I enjoy running, swimming & cycling. I have run several marathons & competed in Ironman triathlon & long distance cycling events. In May 2011, I cycled from Land's End to John O'Groat's for charity.
More recently I have completed in many triathlons all over the world, my nxt one is Ironman Canada ??
My Experience
I have been working with children for over 25 years.
I have had lots of Nanny jobs working for differant families. I have looked after babies from birth to children Up to 16. I have had lots of experience of working with very small babies. Many of the families I have nannied for in the past whose children are now at school or college I have kept in touch with some of them. It's always nice to see the children as they grow up! Especially as when you work for a family for a long time it's easy to become close to them. Friends of mine whose children I have looked after often say to their friends your kids will be fine with Julie she has lots of love to give!
I have worked with newborns & twins as a night nanny, helping to do night feeds so their Mum could get some much needed sleep & have looked after upto 3 children at one time in their own home.
I have worked with children with special needs. The children I have worked with have had numerous differant disabilities from severe cerebral palsy to autism & down's syndrome. Through my work with special needs I have learnt 'Makaton' a childrens sign language. I have been trained to look after children with diabetes & epilepsy & those with severe allergies. I have looked after children who are dependent on Oxygen & children who are fed by a gastrostomy tube.
I have also worked in School's & day nurseries.
My Qualifications
NNEB Diploma in Nursery Nursing at York College from 1991-1993
I have a current first aid certificate.
I have a clean driving licence & have my own car. I also have my own car seats & pushchairs for all ages. I'm happy to use the family pushchairs & car seats (if thats what you prefer) but from experience in the past it has just been easier & more practical to use mine rather than changing car seats from car to car on a daily basis! Less back breaking too!!

Julie has worked with me for my two children on several occasions. She is flexible and has always been full of energy. Children always enjoyed going out with her. She is jolly nature and helpful. I will surely recommend.
Julie has provided before school care two mornings a week for my four children, ages 12, 10, 8 and 4 for over a year. It is extremely difficult to find a nanny willing to start work at 6.15am and Julie has been completely reliable - always turning up on time, which in my experience of nannies is extremely unusual!
Julie is also flexible and often managed to work an extra shift when I needed additional help.
We found Julie through this site and used her services nearly everyday when we visited York for 6 days in March. Our son is only 4 months old so I was worried about leaving such a young baby with someone I did not know, however after meeting Julie I felt reassured that he would be in good hands. Julie was very flexible and was able to come to look after Oliver very early in the morning (7.45am) for a few hours and was available for evening work too. She was a God send and was very good with Oliver and was keen to take him out in his pram. We will definitely use Julie again when we visit York.
