My Experience

· 17 families I have successfully added to my small business when self employed (happy to go back to self employed again)

· Managing my diary each week to suit each of families needs

· Each familie is different – some would have the same set hours through the week, and some were for occasional ad hoc work

· My charges ranged from 1 months – 102 years old

· My roles would vary depending on who I would be caring for

· Making a suitable care plan for each charge

· Working ‘sleepovers’ with my charges for respite of their guardians

· I would be caring for 1 to 4 children at once. This would normally include preparing meals, play, bedtimes and taking/collecting children from school/nursery

· Responsible for looking after different ages children at once

· Responsible for the safety, wellbeing, care and development of young children

· Getting children ready in the morning and then taking them to nursery/school

· Attending any medical appointments or social events with the children

· Helping children with after-school activities like homework

· Being disciplined with the children when required

· Making sure there is plenty of outdoor play in rain or sunshine

· Washing and bathing children as well as changing nappies

· Providing healthy meals and snacks for the children

· Providing supervision and constant care to children

· Stimulating children to read and be active

· Playing with the children and taking them to soft play areas & to the park

· Tidying up children's bedrooms and play areas

· General housekeeping duties like cleaning, washing up and ironing

· Planning and organising age related activities

· Preparing bottles of milk for children

· Proactive, very creative and have fantastic ideas to keep children occupied

· Staying with children overnight for longer periods at a time when parents were on holiday

· Made sure all medication was taken on schedule

· Making sure I established a strong relationship with the guardians to help them feel 100% comfortable

· Always Communicating with guardians with pictures, videos and phone calls

· Helping with any pets (feeding, walking, grooming etc) this includes looking after new puppies and kittens who join the family

· Successfully working while guardians working from home

· Fitting in with the family as a primary care giver

· I manged two Air Bnbs in Edinburgh. One within a house and a two-bedroom house as part of my work with a family

Available All days of the week including the weekend and over nights

My Fees

• Babysitting from £15.00 per hour
• Nannying from £16.00 per hour (gross)
