About Me
Hi my name is Kerry, I’m a childminder registered with Ofsted. I live in the s5 area, close to the Northern General Hospital. I live with my husband and our 4 children, aged 14, 12, 9 & 8.
We have two small dogs, both of whom are very friendly with children, we have had them from being 8 weeks old. We also have two cats who tend to spend their days outside so we rarely see them until feeding time!
I have worked with children since leaving college at the age of 17, and it’s something I absolutely love to do!
I provide a home from home environment where children will be happy and comfortable whilst embarking on their learning journey. I offer school pick ups from Watercliffe Meadow Community Primary School.
I have two designated rooms which I use as areas of learning and play within my home, along with a downstairs toilet and separate hand washing area.
My Experience
I have lots of experience of working with children, and as a mum of 4 I have experience of all ages, from newborn upwards. I come from a very large family and so was brought up around lots of children and as a teen used to babysit for my younger cousins.
I completed 2 years at college after leaving school, and started my first job in a private day nursery at the age of 18. Over the years I worked at 2 other private nurseries, and also a local LEA nursery where I worked in a TA position. During my time at the LEA nursery, I had lots of experience of working with children with additional needs.
My husband and I both have clear DBS checks which are available to view as requested.
My Qualifications
*NVQ level 3 in Childcare and Education (CACHE diploma)
*CACHE in HBCA
*Paediatric first aid
*Clear DBS
*E-learning safeguarding course
*Helping with SEND in schools
*Basic Makaton
My Availability
I do have some availability at the moment. I work Monday to Friday 8am-6pm, however I am open to negotiation should care be required outside of these times.
