My Summary
About Me
**********NO LONGER LOOKING FOR A ROLE********I am looking for a temporary Nanny role from the end of October until the end of December either full or part time. I am also available for baby sitting from November onwards. I currently working as a nanny caring for a 2.5 year old girl and an 8 year old boy but unfortunately the family are re-locating. I have just accepted a new role that starts in January 2010.
I have worked with young children for over 18 years and am passionate about providing the best care, opportunities and outcomes for all children.
I have worked as a Nanny for the last 18 months. I gained vast experience of caring for both early years and primary age children as a Learning Support Assistant in a primary school setting for many years. I strongly believe that developing and learning through play is important and always encourage confidence and independence. By working with the family I can provide a safe and nurturing environment together with clear and consistent boundaries which enhances development academically, socially and emotionally.
I have 3 grown up daughters, 2 step children and a 2 year old grandson. I live at home with my husband and 2 of my daughters. I enjoy walking, swimming, pilates and arts and crafts. I love spending time with my family and friends.
I am always committed and caring in everything I do and am reliable and trustworthy. I am responsible and able to use my own initiative, am a good listener, very patient and have a great sense of humou
My Experience
I have worked as a nanny with my current family since January having sole care of the younger child during school hours and both children before and after school. We attend playgroups, swimming lessons, playdates and visits to the park and shops etc. Creating activities at home to encourage development – painting, crafts, messy/water play, outdoor activities, toys and puzzles, sharing stories and much more. Planning, preparing and cooking meals and keeping the play areas clean and tidy. Having collected the older child from school and attending after school activities I assist with homework and engage with them during play and dinner times.
During Covid I have also supported with online learning whilst both parents have been working from home. Having such an excellent relationship with both parents and children has enabled us all to have a flexible and understanding approach to the current ever changing situation. It has been important to understand and appreciate the impact these changes have had on the children and to show patience and support towards them.
My previous role was a 5 week temporary post caring for 2 young children aged 4 and 7 whilst their Mum was recovering from surgery. My duties were very similar to those in my current role with the addition of daily bath and bed time. Again, I was able to quickly build a relaxed and trustworthy relationship with all the family and was very sorry to have to leave them at the end of the five weeks. I still keep in touch with them and meet up when possible.
Prior to my Nanny roles I worked as a full time Learning Support Assistant within the Early Years of a primary school for over 16 years. I have supported young children academically, socially and in a pastoral capacity across the school, within the classroom, small groups and on a one to one basis. I also had sole responsibility for a class of 30 reception age children twice a week. Alongside this, I was a Lunch Time Supervisor and a Play Worker at the Breakfast and after school club providing wrap around care for children aged 4 – 11.
My Qualifications
I am OFSTED registered and have an enhanced DBS. I hold certificates for the following: Common Core Skills Level 3, Paediatric First Aid, OCR Level 3 Supporting Teaching & Learning, Safeguarding, Level 2 Food & Hygiene, Behaviour Management. I have a full driver’s license and Home Child Care insurance.
My Availability
I am currently seeking a temporary live out Nanny position, either full or part time for November and December. I am also available for babysitting evenings and weekends from the beginning of November onwards.
