Crolla’s Ice Cream Parlour – Cook, Waiter, Cleaner

My daily routine would consist of serving customers this ranged from: serving hot food and drinks (inc. barista coffee) to serving cold desserts such as ice cream, sundaes and milkshakes as well as cleaning table’s floors and using a disinfectant cleaning products to conform to health and hygiene regulations.
Leith Academy Productions – Front of House

Selling, collecting and checking concert tickets, selling raffle tickets, also escorting the elderly and families to their seats for a variety of productions throughout the term.
The Yard Special Needs Centre – Additional Support Play worker

Work experience through the Edinburgh City Council JET programme working with disabled children in a play environment while supporting them with activities. This allowed me to gain knowledge of other disabilities and different strategies to support learning in a play environment. My time here taught me to understand children for how ‘able’ they can be and how I can support, assist and enabled them to be involved in everything they possibly can.

South Leith Parish Church Homeless Breakfast – Volunteer

Packing bags with food, making up rolls and soup to feed the homeless community in Leith, supplying them with everyday items they do not have and having conversations to get to know them better and brighten their day.
YMCA Edinburgh – Volunteer Youth Worker

During my time at YMCA I was a buddy helping younger children with different types of problems in their home life such as parental divorce or separation, personal learning difficulties. I would work with them to build their social skills in a relaxed environment.

Doing a bus run to pick up children from the ages of 5-18 from there homes and assisting them to Oakland’s school for holiday camp, during the day I assisted the children with day to day tasks, activities, trips, socialising and personal care.
