About Me
Hello! We are a family of four: two amazing girls aged 2 and 6, dad and mum. Our wonderful nanny-housekeeper has just landed a dream musical theatre job. We're so excited for her, but it means we are now looking for someone else to help us with managing the house and caring for our daughters. Our nanny-housekeeper will be off by June, so we need someone in place by then ideally. However, we potentially have some flexibility for someone to start later in the summer if necessary.
My Requirements
We are looking for a reliable, gentle and energetic caregiver to join our home and help us look after our daughters for three full days a week (Tuesdays-Thursdays, 9.30-5.30pm). Duties would include looking after the little one all day, helping manage the house and easy meal preparation , collecting our eldest from school (>5 minutes walk away) at 3:30 and caring for both children until the end of the day.
We are looking for a nanny with excellent spoken English, an interest in child development and willingness to be child-led.
One of our primary reasons for choosing a nanny rather than a childminder is to reduce our separation from our children. We therefore work from home and continue to interact with our children during the day as far as our work allows for this. Our nanny-housekeeper needs to feel confident and comfortable with parents being around.
It's important for us that we have time to focus on the children at the end of our working days and aren't just doing the day's housework. Therefore we are looking for someone who is happy to pitch in around the home (e.g. empty the dishwasher, put on/hang out a load of laundry, food preparation for the evening meal, help clear up from the family's breakfast if they arrive to find total carnage and panic!)
We are looking for someone with a heightened awareness of the role of gender and race in society and who is predisposed to challenge inequality in the way they speak, the games they play, and books they read to our children.
