About Me

My Name is Mary Jane Burton, but I am known as Jane. I live in Sherburn and have two grown up children, Lisa and David. I have worked in the industry for over 21 years, starting my career running a playgroup and a midday supervisor at the local primary school before deciding then deciding upon childminding in which, I thoroughly enjoy. I provide professional quality childcare, delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage, offering a wide range of activities in a safe friendly home environment. I understand the need to provide a childcare setting that has an all-inclusive, adaptable and flexible approach working closely and in partnership with the parent/guardian. My last Ofsted inspection was graded as ‘Good’, which I am very proud of.
I currently work in partnership with 2 other local childminders Tracey Gander & Alison Baker and also, with Sherburn Hungate CP School. I ensure the children in my care have access to the community on a regular basis by means of attending the local library, other childminders and during the school holidays we have trips which include Lotherton Hall, seaside and Temple Newsam.
I am committed to ongoing regular training, often at weekends or on an evening after work. This is to ensure I am delivering the best possible care for all the children I care for.
My normal working hours are between 07:30am and 18:00pm Monday to Friday but, I am very flexible and can work outside these times to accommodate. I can also provide overnight care if and when needed.
All the information I hold about your child is held securely on ‘Baby’s Days’. I write daily diaries and upload pictures so you can keep a track of your child’s progress. This can only be viewed by you and myself using a unique password.
I accept child vouchers, all government funding 2,3 & 4 years old, the new extended hours for 3 & 4 year olds and also the new tax free child payment.

Introduction to childcare practice
Safeguarding
Supporting children with speech language and communication needs
And many more
I am also just starting my level 3 in childcare

I can provide prospective parents with written references from both past and existing parents.
