We have been using Lucy and Jamies for the best part of 4years now for both of our children, and what a great choice we made! A home from home where they felt comfortable and cared for, with lots and lots of fun too.
Lucy and Jamie make a great effort to ensure that come rain or shine the children have an activity to do, whether that be a park, playgroup or at home arts and crafts. A variety of choice to ensure they are being exposed to all sorts of new things.
So gutted our time has now come to an end!
Would highly recommend!

My son came to Mayflower in January and the care has received has been amazing. He has been made to feel like part of the family. My son’s confidence has grown massively since being with Mayflower. He has always lacked confidence in stairs and climbing and Jamie and Lucy have made a real effort to encourage him and help him. The activities they do are so good and the amount of time they spend outside i love. They send pictures everyday and give regular updates on what they've been upto. I could not recommend enough. Thank you Jamie & Lucy!

We feel so grateful to have had Mayflower in our lives for nearly 4 years, our first who started in 2021 and our second who we managed to switch in! Incredible set up, great people and always going out come rain or shine which I loved! So gutted to be leaving you, I can’t believe it’s time already! But if you’re looking for a trustworthy, home from home set up, Mayflower is the one for you.

After working in nurseries for years I was a huge sceptic when it came to childminders, however meeting with Lucy and Jamie that all changed!!!
Our daughter was with Mayflower for just over a year and they were nothing short of amazing! The bond that she built with the both of them was instant, with a home from home feeling she would run into the house without looking back and didn't want to leave at the end of the day.
The communication was clear, open and honest, with photos each day showing us what she had been up to.
Even with allergies they always made sure that she was included and never felt left out.
We are so happy that she has Auntie Lucy & Uncle Jamie that I am constantly recommending them to anyone I speak to and will continue to do so!

Lucy and Jamie have been truly amazing throughout the entire settling in process for my daughter.
I was finding the prospect of returning to work very daunting, but Lucy and Jamie helped reassure me that my daughter would adapt well to the new routine and environment.
As soon as we visited Mayflower, it felt warm and welcoming. Their set-up is fantastic and shows how passionate Mayflower are about what they do. My daughter instantly felt comfortable exploring their well-stocked playroom. Lucy & Jamie both took the time to explain their set-up and the rules they have in place to ensure the children’s safety - this was very reassuring for me and my partner.
I was quite anxious about my daughter’s transition into childcare but Lucy and Jamie were very understanding and patient, which helped ease my worries.
During my daughter’s settling-in period, Lucy and Jamie would send me lots of updates / pictures to reassure me that my daughter was happy and settled. It also meant that I was able to see all the fun activities my daughter got involved in which was lovely. They have also been very happy to provide me with additional updates when I have felt anxious.
Mayflower have been proactive with suggestions to help with my daughter’s sleeping and mobility - they really do care and this makes such a huge difference. My daughter has come on leaps and bounds since joining Mayflower! She is now chatting away all day and a confident walker.
Mayflower always try and include outdoor trips for the children everyday, along with playgroups and other fun activities. I have particularly appreciated all the arts and crafts my daughter gets to do during the day, and it is lovely to see all of her work at the end of the day/week.
I cannot sing Mayflower’s praises enough. They have been so understanding and patient which I think is why my daughter settled in so well. They are a brilliant childminders and I would recommend them to anyone.

Our daughter has been with Mayflower for nearly 6 months and we cannot recommend them enough. Lucy and Jamie have created an amazing home from home setting. Our little girl was apprehensive to start a new setting after being with her previous one for so long but Lucy and Jamie made the transition happy, exciting and easy for her and she was running in without saying goodbye before we knew it 😊.
The thought that goes into the daily trips out and activities within the setting is second to none. Our daughter has made lovely friends with the other children and can’t wait to see everyone each day she attends. We love receiving the daily photos and seeing what they are doing and achieving whilst at Mayflower. With the help and encouragement from Lucy our little girl can now write her own name 🥰.
We would highly recommend Mayflower for anyone that is looking for a trusted and respected childminder 😊

Mayflower is such a brilliant childcare setting! The days activities are always so well thought out and we love that the children go outside to explore new places every day, although the indoor space is also incredible!
We’ve seen such positive growth with our child since she’s been attending, her communication skills have increased incredibly quickly and we love that there are always a good but not overwhelming number of children to interact with each day.
The communication between Lucy & Jamie is extremely clear too which is so key to forming a strong and trustworthy relationship. We and our child love Mayflower and feel incredibly lucky to have found them, I would and have recommended them to anybody.

My 16 month old has been with Lucy and Cheryl at Mayflower for 6 weeks now and I can’t fault the care and attention they have given him in helping him to settle in to their lovely setting. It was obviously a very difficult decision to make to leave him and return to work and Lucy immediately put me at ease that he would be well looked after and helped in getting used to his new surroundings. Lucy is great at keeping me informed on his activities during the day which has made my return to work so much easier. Knowing he’s having a lovely time doing lots of activities and seeing the photos of what he’s up to is so reassuring. The facilities on offer are wonderful and Jack has loved playing in the enormous garden and exploring the well-stocked playroom as well as going on lots of different outings. Jack’s confidence in walking and communicating has come on enormously in such a short space of time and I’m very much looking forward to seeing how he continues to develop under Lucy and Cheryl’s care.

Amazing family providing some fantastic childcare! Can not recommend them enough. Our son adores being there and is always happy to go there to play and learn. It's helped him in so many ways and they are easy to talk to and give lots of updates on how he's doing! Amazing place and lucky to have been a part of it.

Mayflower have been an absolute blessing. My son began going there at 13 months and Lucy and Cheryl were so patient and supportive during the settling in period. 9 months on and my son absolutely loves being with Mayflower, he is learning quickly, making friends and is happy and excited to be there. The Mayflower family is very special, the environment and facilities are exceptional and I often wish I could go in and spend the day instead of going to work!
I woul highly recommend Mayflower for their professionalism, care, warmth and the amazing positive impact they are having during my sons early life.

Lucy and family are very welcoming, kind and flexible.
My daughter was only with Lucy for a few months over the summer due to moving back in the area and then starting school.
She was made to feel like part of the family and loved going every day for the time she was there.
They is always plenty of activities happening and we were kept up to date on a daily basis.
We look forward to hopefully going back in the school holidays

Just really want to thank Lucy and her family for the great care they have given to my daughter, I can see a significant change in her for the past few months, she's now got more confidence to do anything. Lucy herself has raised 3 wonderful kids, my daughter has great time with them. It's shame that we are moving...

Both my daughter and son attend at Mayflower and absolutely LOVE it there! My daughter only attends during the holidays and has mild learning difficulties but she has excelled here - starting to do things that she wouldn't do at home or at nursery. Lucy's children are wonderful and Bella adores them - she often asks when she's going to go to see Lucy during the term time as she has such a good time. My son has been attending Mayflower since he was 15 months old and can't wait to get in every morning! He has such an attachment to all of them and his learning is beyond his age and I honestly believe this is testimony to the setting and the fun/stimulating/nurturing environment that he's in. I can hand on heart say that it is one in a million and I don't think I'll really find better care elsewhere x

Just wanted to say a big thank you to you both!!
As we watch Mia grow and become this amazing adorable , independent, happy and confident little girl, we know you are playing a massive part in her life and we are very grateful for all you do.
We know it must not always be easy but yet you look after her so well and love her.

We were one of the few lucky ones that have had the pleasure of having our little boy Sebastian at Mayflowers and we couldn’t recommend it enough.
Unfortunately, for family reason we had to move far away from the area and couldn’t keep Sebastian with Lucy and James, but the only hard part of taking the decision of moving was the fact that we will not have them close by to look after our son.
From day one Sebastian enjoyed very single minute at Mayflowers, being first time parents we were very anxious about day-care but Lucy and James put our minds at ease from the beginning. Their structure works great, for both, children and parents, their team is incredible and having Sebastian there was a total blessing.
We couldn’t thank Mayflowers enough for everything they have done for Sebas and we really hope to be able to have them as childminders again one day.

My daughter has been very happy at Mayflower childminding! she has progressed brilliantly!
she has learned a lot since she's been there and Lucy Cheryl and Jamie have been excellent with her in regards to her development!
Thank you all Sadie has loved her time with you guy's and i have always felt that she has been looked after brilliantly. .
you have a great range of toys and games as well as a great range of activities both indoor and out. .
she has made some lovely friends which we will keep in touch with as well as your lovely children who always greeted us at the door with a smile :-)
We will miss you all. .
I have no problem recommending Mayflower to anyone who is looking for childcare .

Our daughter started at Mayflower when she was 10 months old. and settled in exceptionally quickly and was happy from day one. Over the time she was there she developed into a happy, confident and caring little girl! ! The setting is lovely where the children are looked after in a structured, safe and contented environment! !. i would have no hesitation in recommending Mayflower ..

My son Callum Smith has been attending Mayflower Childminding, four days a week, since they first opened.
He has settled in extremely well and enjoys the company of the other children there.
He thoroughly enjoys his time at Mayflower and has the opportunity to take part in various activities throughout the week.
I am very impressed with the range of indoor/outdoor toys available to him and the arts/crafts and cooking sessions he takes part in.
Callum always talks about what his day has entailed, especially his visits to
playgroups and Soft play. This reassures me that he is enjoying his time there.
I would have no hesitation recommending Mayflower to a friend !!

Our son Joe started at Mayflower at the beginning of November 2011, he was just over a year old and had not been left with anyone before.
but after meeting lucy and the family and after Joe's taster sessions I was confident he would be well looked after.
Joe struggled for a while with separation anxiety but now has no problems being left in their care and often runs into their house and starts playing before I have even said goodbye to him..
He really enjoys himself and clearly loves all the children and has a big smile for lucy when she opens the door.
Since his time at Mayflower his confidence has come on leaps and bounds. Before childcare he would be very overwhelmed with loud/hectic situations and need to be held, but now he is not phased at all and embraces a new environment and interacts really well with other children.
Joe has a rewarding time at Mayflower learning new skills and benefiting from a much wider range of experiences than I could'nt provide at home.
He is in a caring environment and one that is flexible to our needs whilst also providing great reassurance to myself and my husband.

Our son Max has been attending Mayflower Childminding since September 2011. He
Currently attends on a part time basis for approximately 30 hours per week.
We have been extremely pleased with the service provided. Max is treated as though he is part of
The family, which is very reassuring for us.
He is very settled and enjoys his time there.
The relevant paperwork is always completed and Max's diary is always filled out with
The information we need to see. We are always given good information on when he has
eaten and how much he's taken, and when he's slept and for how long + likes and dislikes
This information is very helpful for when we get him home in the evenings.
The three minders; Lucy, Cheryl and Jamie, all do a great job and work well together.

My children, Dylan and Lucas, have been coming to Mayflower Childminding since September 2011.
When looking for a childminder, the main things I wanted for my children were:
- somewhere where they would be treated with warmth and patience
- a safe, secure and stimulating, environment.
I find all of these in abundance at Mayflower Childminding. Dylan and Lucas are always happy to go and love to tell me what they’ve been doing at the end of the day. They do so many different activities: craft, drawing, painting and trips to various parks and playgroups and I am always kept informed on what they’ve been doing/are planning to do.
I have complete confidence in Lucy, Jamie and Cheryl - I very much appreciate the calm, unflappable, patient and kind way they look after my sons. I feel very lucky to have found them and am extremely happy with the quality of childminding there.

My two children (aged 5 and 2) have been looked after by Lucy since November 2011 and we have been really happy with the care they have received. Lucy and her family provide a warm, friendly atmosphere where the children feel welcome and are well looked after.
Lucy makes sure that the children get lots of fresh air and exercise and she provides healthy, well-balanced meals. The children do a variety of different activities during the day that are fun and educational. They come home really happy.
Lucy's house is spacious and she has a great selection of toys in her toy room which are age appropriate, she also has a lovely big garden with a playhouse and trampoline (both of which are always supervised).
Overall, we're really happy using Mayflower and would 100% recommend to anyone.
