Hi my name is Joanne. I live in Anlaby Common and I run Jo Jo's Childcare.
I am 44 years old and I have 4 children. The youngest 3 live with me, Archie, 7 and Owen, 9. both go to Anlaby Primary school. Harry is 18 ,he is an apprentice joiner. Amy, 22 has recently got her own place. We have 4 guineapigs, 2 cats and 2 dogs.
I provide home-from-home childcare in our home in Anlaby Common. I have been registered with Ofsted as a childminder for over 18 years. I absolutely love it and I couldn't imagine doing anything else.
My Experience
I really enjoy my job, I always have. I love spending time with the children, teaching them, providing experiences and watching them grow into the individual characters that they all are.
I have worked on my own since I registered over 16 years ago but over the last couple of years I have gained 4 assistants.
Amy,Jodie,Clare and Rita are registered with Ofsted and like myself they have first aid and safeguarding training. We are fully insured and have DBS certificates. Jodie,Clare and Rita also have the invaluable experience of having their own children. Jodie and Clare have worked in nurseries and Amy is a qualified teacher.
We promote the Early years foundation stage providing the children with a stimulating,exciting and caring environment in which they can learn,develop and be happy.
Each week is different- we visit different playgroups,play areas,libraries,local parks music sessions and we have days out and meet up regularly with other childminders and their minded children. This means the children have a large circle of friends even at a young age.We spend time at home doing lots of different activities: painting,sticking,playing games,role play and reading stories to name just a few. I have a large garden that has artificial grass enabling the children to have outdoor play all year round. Earlier this year I had a large purpose built cabin built in my garden and we mainly work from here.
We follow the children's interests but also have a different topic every couple of months and plan activities and learning opportunities around this.
Childcare vouchers are accepted and we provide the free funded hours for 2, 3 and 4 year olds.
We offer a before and after school session which includes breakfast/tea and a drop off/pick up to Anlaby Primary School. Childcare is available in the school holidays.
My Qualifications
Jodie and I have a NVQ level 3 in Childcare, learning and development.
Claire is working towards her level 3.
Amy is a qualified teacher.
We all have first aid and safeguarding training and over the years I have completed courses in behaviour management,health and safety,food and hygiene plus lots more.

My daughter has been going to Joannes for 2 months now and I really feel at ease whilst she is there. She comes home happy and enjoys going. Joanne goes above and beyond what I would expected for the price. She is really organised and Iove receiving pictures of my daughter's activities through the day.

Jo is an amazing childminder, my niece loves her and often decides to go there rather than be with me 😂😂😂 she has made lots of friends there and loves going in the holidays when Jo goes slower with them.

My 2yr old settled extremely quickly after being looked after at home only and now looks forward to going to Jo Jo's every morning.
Joanne is lovely and feel like I've known her for years not weeks.
My little boy always has an amazing time and I enjoy seeing what they've been up/making to during the day when I pick him up.

Joanne is brilliant with the kids and does lots of activities with them.My little girl loves going to Joanne.Never thought i would be able to leave her, but Joanne makes you feel at ease all the way.I would highly recommended her.
