About Me
Hi! I'm a friendly, playful, nurturing and patient mature nanny who is very conscientious, self motivated and resourceful. I'm Ofsted registered and can be paid through both Tax-Free Childcare (Govt top up of your childcare payments) and Free Childcare schemes (15 hrs/wk for 2 yr olds, 30 hrs for 3 year olds. Babies over 9 months can also access 15 hours a week free childcare from September 2024). I'm also self-employed, so you won't have to worry about paying my tax - I'll simply invoice you at the end of the month.
I follow a gentle approach, respecting each child's feelings, choices, boundaries and consent. I have approx 28 years experience caring for children aged 0-11 (in homes, schools and nurseries as well as 13 years as a Nanny). I come from a family of teachers, so educating young children is very much in my blood. I own a collection of beautiful open-ended handmade and wooden toys and books for all ages, which I have carefully curated over the years to stimulate imagination, problem solving skills and curiosity. I will bring a carefully chosen personalised selection of them each day for your children to play with. I love to encourage children's imagination, read with them, play with them and create stories and songs and beautiful little worlds with them. Above all, to laugh, get silly and have FUN! I have so many resources and ideas to keep your little ones busy and happy.
I'm also willing to help out around the house and can show you new ways to organise and fold your clothing!

My Experience
I started out as a mother's helper and babysitter when I was young, later moving onto primary school teacher assistant and running kids' clubs. I've had other "care" jobs in between, such as holistic therapist, and the experience in healthcare, therapy, counselling, advising and calming down stressed people has proved very useful when working with children. I've been a teacher at several nurseries. I also designed, wrote and photographed the website for my last nursery school. I've been a Nanny for the past 13 years, making a total of about 28 years Childcare experience plus 10 years Care experience with adults. So there's not much I can't handle! Although one of my favourite parts of this job is that I learn something new from every child.
My Qualifications
I have Level 3 NVQ Early Years Care and Education, Paediatric First Aid, have attended numerous workshops in counselling and other psychology techniques, I'm also a qualified Aromatherapist, Reflexologist and Beauty Therapist as well as having had Art and Design training.
My Availability
I currently have a waiting list for 2025/26 where a few more hours may open up, as my availability has all been booked for this year!

My Fees
- Babysitting from £14.00 per hour
- Nannying from £16.50 per hour (gross)
I currently charge £16.50/hour (local) up to £18 (if over 10 miles travel each way) - I'm self employed, so this is before tax, which I take care of for you. This rate factors in my decades of experience and expertise, plus registration as a childcare provider with Ofsted, nanny insurance, DBS check and Paediatric First Aid training. You can use your Free Childcare hours towards paying me, also access Tax Free Childcare to help towards nanny costs.
