My Experience

From 2019 - 2021, I did regular part-time nannying for two different families - helping with school pick ups, homework, cooking dinner, fun art sessions and lots of play. Because time this coincided with lockdown, I also helped a lot with at home school work for one of the family's daughter, who was age 5 at the time. Prior to that I did babysitting for 7 different families over a period of 6 years, looking after children from ages 8 months old to 12. I'm kind, caring, patient and creative in my approach to childcare. Here is a testimonial from a parent of a child I previously babysat:

"I would highly recommend Alysha. She looked after Logan for us whilst we were working, she looked after him both at our home and ensured that he ate meals and slept when needed as well as around Bristol depending on our movements in the city. She was always very attentive and natural with Logan from the start and he loved spending time with her. I found Alysha to be reliable (always on time), communicative and trustworthy. If she was still in Bristol I would be calling her to look after Logan still."

Since 2016 I have staffed on Forest School Camps, an educational charity that organises camps for children. This has provided me with valuable experiences of teamwork, catering skills, wilderness survival and has furthered my experience of looking after children - learning to create a safe and fun environment for kids whilst away from home. I have looked after children aged between 6 - 12 on FSC and I also have some (minimal) experience looking after children and adults with special needs. Here are my staff reports from FSC:

In 2018, I worked with a Bristol based organisation called Sharp Shotz, mentoring and assisting young children to make short films and campaigns about significant issues that affect them.
