About Me
Hi! My name is Lisa and I live in Lawford with my partner of 23 years, Paul and our son. I am an Ofsted Registered Childminder, graded GOOD in June 2022. I have worked in the childcare profession on and off for 20 years, the last 6 of these as a childminder. I have also been a working mum so know how important it is to find great, reliable and affordable childcare.
I adore my job and feel very privileged to spend my time with the children I care for. I love planning exciting activities including craft, baking, messy and sensory play, and we often visit the farm, zoo, library, beach, woods, playgroup, music sessions and more on our outings. We love to be outside and explore our local community and environment, regardless of the weather so wellies are a must!
This is all in order to provide a fun, varied and enriched learning experience for your child. The early years are crucial in a child's development. I follow the statutory requirements of the Early Years Foundation Stage and my aim is to provide a high quality curriculum for each and every child that attends my setting. In an environment that is inclusive, where your child will feel happy, safe and confident.
My Experience
I became a registered Childminder, with Ofsted, in November 2019, after studying and passing my Cache Level 3. I have previous experience of working within childcare over the years.
I have been a Nanny, a manager of a soft play centre and worked in a nursery. I am also a mum! I was graded a GOOD in my Ofsted inspection June 2022.
In October 2023 Lucy Brotherton, a fellow childminder, and myself decided to join forces and created a unique and special setting called 'Little Willows' based in Ardleigh. Little Willows is a purpose built barn, it's very much a small setting, never more than 8 children at one time. It still has that lovely, personable, homely feel that is so important when choosing a childminder for your child. This has been a dream for a very long time as two passionate independent childminders, and we are excited to offer a special setting and for you to join us on this adventure.

Lisa is absolutely outstanding. Our daughter loves going to “Isa and Ucy’s”.
Their barn is a perfect setting. Lisa is incredibly compassionate and has built an incredible rapport with our child. It is evident that she knows how to care for our child and understands their interests and likes. Every week we hear about all the creative ways they provide a learning experience that also feels like a home from home.
I will always be grateful that we found Lisa. I have been so impressed that I recommended Lisa to my friend and now both our children go to the barn every week.

Lisa is amazing with our daughter. She was recommended to us by a friend and we are so glad she was. Our daughter is excited to go to see Lisa 3 times a week and we trust her completely in looking after our child. The setting is beautiful and we love seeing regular updates on what they have been up to. The activities Lisa organises for the little ones she looks after are varied, exciting and adapted for the different ages of children. Lisa has created a little community with lovely events for the families of her children too. We really couldn't recommend Lisa more to anyone requiring childcare in this area.

Our little girl has been with Lisa since April 2021 and after being a lockdown baby we were nervous about leaving her as we were all she knew. Lisa was so understanding with our concerns and from day 1 our little girl has been so happy! Everyday is a new adventure with days out planned, picnics, learning games and just pure fun. The daily reports and pictures are great and helps us feel involved. Lisa is amazing with our girl and has become a great friend to us too. Would 100% recommend!

Lisa has been looking after our son since February 2020 when I returned back to work. Lisa made the whole transition so easy, especially as my son was so young. Lisa has been a fantastic support and someone we really trust with our son who seems to have a lot of fun every day and already doesn’t like coming home 😂. Our son has always been so comfortable with Lisa and her home is a lovely, friendly and comforting environment. Lisa always communicates with us what’s going on and we get regular updates as to what is happening in our sons day which is a great comfort to us. We 100% would recommend Lisa to anyone and is such a fantastic lady.
