About Me
I am mother of 3 children with a passion of working with children and ensuring they have a loving and caring adult around them to look after their educational, social and physical needs. It is essential that a child is attended to what ever their needs are ensuring boundaries are held to ensure their safety.
My Experience
I have been working with children and some with special needs children for the past 4 years, children's needs range from mild speech and language delays to severe physical and mental disabilities. I have worked with children who have no understanding or awareness of their surroundings such as identifying danger.
Some children have multiple mental and/or physical health issues and I have been able to provide a comprehensive approach to ensure they are safe and happy.
I have a fair understanding of the principles of child protection and family support. The principles of these are the protection of children from significant harm together with, where possible, ensuring that the child is raised by their family. Having a working relationship with users and other relevant agencies provides an effective framework for the protection and support of both children and their families.
I take time and explore opportunities to support children and their families to develop life skills whilst doing their daily chores or having fun to learn something new. I believe the core values when dealing with children and are patience, sensitivity and good communication skills. Through practical work I have seen that all three are very important elements when working with children.
I am also very proactive and have been very supportive to children and families with cleaning and maintaining a good level of personal, living and food hygiene.
I have worked with children and families from different races, religions, cultures and ethnic groups such as people from the Bangladeshi, Indian, Algerian and White British communities.
I have no criminal convictions and hold an enhanced DBS certificate.
