Jude has been a huge help to me and my family over the last 10 months. She joined us when my twins were 2 months old and was able to seamlessly fit into our daily rhythm, some days taking on more childcare (for the babies or my older toddler) and other days helping around the house so I could focus on my girls or get some much needed rest. She has been a great sound board and source of advice without judgement or agenda, and her flexibility to meet our needs has been so appreciated. She is warm, caring and has been a great friend during this time. We will miss her!
Jude worked for us for 6 months and was employed as an after school nanny and holiday nanny, but also took on a small amount of household help. She left us when she moved to a different part of the country.
Jude has a very patient and calm approach. She has outstanding ability to approach conversations when our children were not behaving well or were not in control of their emotions with compassion. She’s able to make astute observations of what is happening and what could be triggering it – all while remaining in absolute control of her own emotions. She has an excellent emotional intelligence which she applied really well- and was exactly why we wanted to hire a nanny for our childcare.
She was very punctual, communicated professionally, managed the invoicing well and also did an excellent job when we arranged for her to take on some cleaning as well.
Her style of activities suited our children well, mainly focusing on decompressing after the school day and creative and constructive activities as well as taking our son to swimming class.
She cooked well and was very organized about combining this with making sure the children were OK. Our children always requested simple food- but the references we talked to before she started with us mentioned she was capable of really excellent cooking.
Our children were 7 and 9 years old at the time Jude started working for us. Our 9-year-old girl needs quiet time to decompress after school and loved doing creative activities with Jude. Our 7-year-old boy has more challenges managing his emotions and also has some sensory needs which can result in heightened emotions and consequently challenging behaviour. He has been through autism diagnosis paths and various health professionals through school and is on the SEN register- but has not had any formal diagnosis.
Jude worked with our family for seven months, looking after our two year old 1-2 days per week. She was always punctual, responsible and took a very thoughtful approach. Our daughter experiences some anxieties and Jude was wonderful as helping her navigate this and in particular - she was great at communicating with our daughter and helping her to understand and own her feelings. I’d definitely recommend Jude to anyone looking for support - she’s also just a loved human.
