About Me
Hi, My name is Dawn and I am a qualified Primary School teacher with over 20 years experience in the classroom. I am also a trained special needs coordinator.(SENCO) holding a Masters degree in Education. My last school role was as deputy head and senco in a large primary school.
My Experience
I have been teaching in Primary schools since 1999. I have taught all year groups across the primary age. I qualified as a SENCo in 2015 and have a wide range of experience supporting pupils with special needs. I also have a specialism in Autism, memory difficulties and social emotional difficulties. I can carry out screening for both Dyslexia and Dyscalculia
I was a leading ICT teacher for eleven years providing training for other teachers and demonstrating lessons for them.
I am able to help children who struggle in a school setting providing a tailored 1:1 programme for a range of subjects, helping them gain much needed confidence.
My Qualifications
B Ed (Hons) Primary Education Specialising in Mathematics and ICT
Masters degree in Education and Leadership
National Professional Qualification for headship (NPQH)
Paediatric First aid trained.
Mental Health First Aider
TEFL (Teaching English as a Foreign Language) qualified.
Safeguarding/Child protection training
I am trained in a variety of English and Maths teaching programs and use a range of resources which support this.
