I am a qualified paediatric first aider (renewed as of 20/06/20), DBS checked and hold public liability insurance. I have a full UK driving license alongside my own vehicle.
I am a well loved, responsible, creative and energetic Nanny looking for a full time family (35+ hours). I moved to Bristol in 2019. I have chosen to become a nanny as I have found that I enjoy to help and encourage little minds, making a difference on a personal and developmental level.
As an artist and dancer I believe creativity is a fundamental part of human expression and vital to children’s development. I love baking, painting, reading, going on walks, and exploring museums. I am a confident swimmer, great cook (always happy to rustle up a 'what's in the fridge' meal) and enjoy a clean and tidy home environment.
My brother has ADHD and as a consequence I would say that I am confident in my ability to care for children with sensory issues and who require extra attention. I know how vital patience and compassion are in these circumstances.
My Experience
I started babysitting at 14 and still do on a regular basis. I have a great relationship with lots of families who know me to be reliable, punctual and natural at integrating into the joy and chaos of family life.
I ran a children's club through my local church for two years (2014-2016). This involved organising weekly activities such as getting messy with seasonal crafts, organised sports games and quiet reading time. I was in charge of twenty children and the adult volunteers, and was therefore responsible for both managing health and safety and the clubs' finances. I have proven myself to be a trustworthy, likeable and organised person with a love for fuelling curious and creative little minds.
I was a maternity cover nanny for six months (2017). I cared for two children full time, ages two and five (boy and a girl). I was responsible for everything from breakfast to tea time, including school drop off and pick up. I was therefore mainly required to play and care for the two year old girl. I took her to swimming classes, the library, on muddy walks, made sure she ate well and grew to love messy baking and painting. I did all the household chores from laundry to cleaning the children's' rooms. I am confident with meal times, nap times, creative and educational activities and ensuring that I am well versed in a families routine, ethics and parental values.
Before the coronavirus pandemic I engaged in mothers help on an ad hoc basis for a mother of two children (a three year old girl and a two month old boy). This involved giving her peace and quiet with the new baby during working hours by taking her little girl out on walks, to the park or getting creative in the kitchen while mum has a break. I regularly looked after the boy (2 months) while she taught her weekly dance class, making sure that both she and baby are as happy and comfortable as possible being away from one another for that hour.
I worked with a wonderful family pre COVID-19 caring for one little girl aged 1, Sadly due to the current situation they were unable to keep me on. We have maintained a happy and professional relationship since.
I worked for a busy family of 4 children (G15, B12, G10, B4). Whilst my main responsibility is caring for the four-year-old boy, my role expanded to also care for the ten-year-old girl due to school closures. Me and Mum have worked together very closely during this time and have become a strong unit. We have both been working together to help boy (4) with strong attachments to both siblings and routine. I have gained a plethora of experience dealing with anxiety and learnt to navigate to roller coaster that family life can be. I am involved in every aspect of day to day life, from getting ready for school to family dinners. We enjoy lots of outdoor time exploring local parks and woodlands (within restrictions). We love to bake anything and everything. We get creative as often as we possibly can with junk building and lots of messy painting.
I have worked caring for two little boys for the past few years starting at newborn for the littlest to them nearly being ready for school. We enjoy forest school, swimming and messy play. I work a combination of sole charge and supportive Nannying. Giving mum quality time with each of her children. I enjoy leading activities based on developmental learning stages alongside child led play.
I currently work 3 days a week for g3 and b1 sole charge. They are thriving at drama and music classes alongside lots of painting and cooking.
I have maintained active and lovely relationships with all the families who's children I have looked after. I believe that kindness, affection, trust, leading an active lifestyle and stability are incredibly important to raising healthy and happy children. I would love to work for a family looking for a Nanny not just to tick by the working hours, but to truly engage with and become a part of the family.
