About Me
My name is Lydia and I am looking for work as a part-time nanny or babysitter in St Andrews, and would also be happy to provide tutoring or help with school work. I study Spanish and Arabic at the university here and have an interest in a career in teaching or childcare after I graduate. I really enjoy working with children of all ages and as a local student (I live in the centre of town) I can be very flexible with hours and changing plans to accommodate a family's needs. My Experience
Volunteer at Tyndale Primary School 2017-18:
I volunteered as part of a school programme to assist struggling children with their reading. I worked with children from ages 4 to 11 and received very positive feedback from the children and teachers.
Tutor at Explore Learning 2019-present:
In the holidays I work as a tutor of English and Maths to children ages 4-14. This role requires a lot of multitasking as I am teaching up to 6 children of very different ages and abilities at the same time, this position thus equipped me to handle the many simultaneous demands of childcare, especially if I am caring for more than one child.
My Qualifications
I am DBS checked and have experience working with children of all ages (including infants). I have also worked as a tutor and would be happy to provide tutoring services in addition to childcare in Maths up to KS3, and English and Spanish up to GCSE level.
My Availability
I am available after 2pm on Mondays, Tuesdays and Fridays and before 10pm on Wednesdays and Thursdays. I am also available for weekends but in order to allow sufficient time for my studies I am only available to work a maximum of 3 days a week regularly (although this could potentially be flexible on an ad-hoc basis).
